I appreciate your video. I'm not an electrician and its been hell for me to figure stuff out. I'm with you on the parts replacement. Your video helps me understand the components better. I'm not a mechanic either. Still learning as an older man. Keep up the good work.

I had similar problems with an old Range Rover some years ago. Combination of coil reppacement and battery earth lead cleaning saw it start. Along with a few other tweaks.

By the way, I have a 1968 Mustang Coupe, 289. I've had it since the summer of 1987, going into my senior year in high school. I put the car into reverse and as I was backing up it went completely dead. No crank, no sound, no nothing. I've been trying to figure out what went wrong. So your video helps me understand what could be wrong with the car. Thank you.

In this very minute I am about to "attack" my 68 FB. I am preparing by looking up useful videos..this one appear to be one of those. Mine suddenly did not respond to turning the key. I managed to jumpstart it with a brand new fully charged battery. Since the starter responded instantly, and she ignited instantly I blamed the starter relay...Switch it. To avoid mixing the connections up I disconnected and connected each wire one by one. I immediately realized something was wrong when I turned the key...the starter went running when the keys reach its first position..it should not. Worse was...the starter kept running even when I turned the key back...had to remove the battery cable. Faulty ignition/lock? Misconnected a wire in spite of my methodology approach? Faulty relay, in spite it was new? Some insists saying my starter is at fault, but it runs and showed no signs to be weak prior, and the car started very willingly up to this moment....

Thank for taking time to make this vid. I never knew the alternator could keep the car from starting. I just picked up a barn find 69 stang, 302 all original. Very clean but no start. I worked out a bunch of problems but still no spark.. I replaced the coil, distributor & starter relay. I have power at the coil but no spark coming out. Any ideas?

Need help, 64 mustang 289 v8.
Just replaced the head gasket and had to reface the Cylinder head.
Replaced the ignition as well.
Car only had heating issues before was driving fine otherwise, fixed that.
Now the firing order is alright, have had a single cylinder fire up but it's just not starting, the only thing left to do is to check the tappet adjustment. If anyone has anyother ideas would be appreciated.

Hey man I got a 64 mercury comet, I changed out the selenoid but nothing happens. I have no crank no clicks nothing.

When I turn the key I hear small sparks coming from the distributor and sometimes it moves the fan a bit.

Anyways I disconnected all the wires from the steering column since the shift is broken. You think that might be the reason or what are your thoughts?

Just watched Pt. 2 and the unboxing of your American wire kit #510055 for modified apps. Great Video and very detailed! I subbed the channel emediately! Will Watch your whole series on this scary adventure. Q? is it possible just to buy a specific harness? I tend to need the #14290 that runs to the 4 post solenoid (from your one diagram). Thanks very much for your time and effort making these great videos, it helps very much. I have a 67 Mustang Gt with a nicely built 460 in it and went to One wire 100 amp alt upgrade. In the past two years, New battery, cables, solenoid, and new ignition switch and tumbler (key) just not getting juice/volts to the "S" terminal but jumping it turns the car over, so starter good. Thanks again and cheers from Motown/Dearborn. Oh C-6 auto and did not see a safety neutral switch.
