"Youtube is a group project" is actually the truest statement ever.

In a way, just like school- it's not only the principal's fault if something goes wrong in a school enviornment. It could also the teacher's fault, student's fault, peer's fault- it can practically be anyone at fault. So if something goes wrong, we shouldn't always blame one person for it.

Susan Wojiciki was actually a really fucking good CEO imo. Like, really, what other social media CEO even communicated with the community? Twitch? Who was the last CEO even? I literally looked it up before writing this comment and forgot.

I feel a lot of the hate she got was also just misogyny. There was so much public outrage and hatred towards her, yet as soon as she stepped down and a male CEO came in a lot of that discussion just disappeared. I feel like a lot of the hate during that era, especially from certain channels, was misogyny disguised as legitimate criticism.

I didn't like her as the CEO at the time, but I eventually grew up and realized she's not a bad person at all and her death is terribly sad, she was only 56 and has 4 kids.

I don't understand some people hated Susan Wojcicki as YouTube CEO but Instagram CEO is NEVER talked about for offensive toxic people on Instagram Reels. YouTube 2018 rewind got 20 million dislikes for being cringe but even cringier videos and YT shorts and gore, pedophile YouTubers veing exposed get less than 100K dislikes.

Trueee youtube wasnt profitable and had to negotiate with advertisers so things like the adpocalypse were inevitable. The algorithm can still be very stressfull for youtubers but its worth saying that ahe always tried to communicate with youtubers as much as she could. Even commenting on videos of youtubers that have said al kinds of hatefull things about her.

She made the horrible mistake of doing a conservative business strategy in a desperate bid to save the platform whilst also being a woman and everyone treated her like a bigger criminal than Nixon
