Colwill is a lot better than disasi. Disasi makes way too many mistakes

I actually think Enzo will play the Winks role, Caicedo will play the Ndidi role and Palmer will play the KDH role.

In the forward positions - Jackson on the left, Nkunku in the middle. Madueke on the right. Palmer in the KDH role, Caicedo in the Ndidi role. Enzo in the winks role. Back 4 of Cucurella, Colwill, Fofana and James with James as the inverting full back. Sanchez as the goalie.

Surely Enzo is the delux Winks? And Caicedo more like Ndidi

I think it’ll be Caicedo, Enzo, and Palmer in the midfield—with Palmer in the KDH role 🔥 that allows for Madueke as a more direct RW and Palmer to express his creativity.

It seems almost inevitable that Gallagher will be sold to maintain FFP, but even so in this system I think the KDH role is Palmer’s best position

As a Leicester fan, the Enzo experience was very positive overall. He took us straight back up and reunited a club that Brendan Rodgers somehow managed to ruin. However, my fear is that his football is very divisive. It works when it works but sometimes it's difficult to watch and the moment it doesn't look like it's working people will jump at the opportunity to pick holes in it. It split our quite local and relatively small fanbase so I can only imagine what could happen if/when it gets analysed by the global media which is inevitable at a mammoth club like Chelsea. Enzo is also very passionate and outspoken which as I said can unite but again can be quite provocative as was the case when he called out Leicester fans multiple times; I'm not sure how Chelsea fans will take that.

I hope it works out and it most certainly could but if it doesn't? Boy this is gonna be ugly... 🦊

I will say petrovic on the ball when he first came into the team scared me. He has gotten so much better with his feet and distributing the ball in the last few months. I think he could play for maresca

Been waiting for this video. I really hope Maresca can get the best out of Colwill, James and enzo. They're 3 top players with amazing ability and they can easily become consistently world class performers

I think of all the managers chelsea have gone for recently, maresca is the one with the clearest and most uncompromising identity which the fans and the owners can buy into. A good start is vital tho and with his lack of experience and the large variety of profiles in the squad, it could be difficult to immediately get the team right and find form. Also, as you say, this is chelsea and it just feels like something is bound to go wrong- I think maybe he drops some big names (James, Enzo, Nkunku, Palmer?) and it doesn't go down well with the fans or the owners.
Overall a good manager and a good fit but a bit risky and with it being chelsea... anything can happen!

Do you not think his system worked because he had the best squad and most Championship teams had never played against a Pep style system often? Just feel like he stumbled his way to the finish with the best squad in the league.

So exactly the same Set up that POCH implemented towards the end of the season!

Palmer often played as a central midfielder when in the City academy in a 4-3-3 so I would expect he plays in the KDH role, it enables him to play in the areas he likes and crash the box. Madueke is a much better stylistic fit for the touch-line hugging winger
Enzo is definitely the best to be the 100 touch man at the base, he is the best passer in the squad and he is a really underrated defender. Enzo played at the base of a 3 last season at Chelsea and was actually incredible in a terrible team. His main weakness is lack of mobility, which wouldn't be a major issue with inverted fullbacks
Caicedo has shown that he is not just a destroyer this season, his final third passing has been good and although he may not be much of a goal threat, he could definitely be effective as a box-to-box midfielder, like he was under Potter at Brighton

A lot of people saying Nkunku on the left. But, by asking Nkunku to hold width, you are essentially taking away from his strength of playing in the half space. I think Palmer goes on the right wing Caicedo in that Ndidi role would not be as progressive and give Palmer the space he needs for that 1v1. Nkunku in that KDH role. Mudryk (most likely) on the left. Enzo in the Winks role. New striker. There are a lot of options (which is a good thing), but we have spent so much money on these players that someone that cost 40-50 million is going to be a bench warmer.

Personally, I think it's more likely that we move Sterling on and play Nkunku in the LW Role with a proper striker like Osimhen or Sesko coming in as the no.9. Also love the Chukwuemeka shout he would unreal in the Ndidi role.

Mudryk could be amazing on the left tho… if he’s given space to run into and 1v1 the RB, then he has the ability to go either way and playmake. he’s a much better investment for that role

Enzo in the Winks role, Caicedo in the Ndidi role, Nkunku in the KDH role, Palmer RW, Jackson ST, Sterling LW.

Fullback pairings of either Colwill+James or Cucurella+Chalobah. An actual fullback (James/Cucurella) that inverts into the midfield double pivot in possession, and a tall CB (Colwill/Chalobah) at fullback that tucks in to the back 3 in possession.

Tried explaining why I thought this would work best, but it kept turning into an essay that I know no one wants to read 😂.

Definitely think this profiles our players better to Maresca's system though.

I see nkunku playing in the KDH position. People forget he was an attacking 8 (similar to odegaard) for much of his career at Leipzig. That just leaves the question of where Enzo then plays
