Poch wasn't sacked. They mutually agreed to part ways due to the board's unwillingness to give Poch major input in tranfers and squad building.

Comparision with Potter: Potter had an aging squad full of players with no future at Chelsea and it was not hire from the sporting directors so didn't allign with the vision
Comparision with Poch: Different situation, Poch was given a 2 year contract, was never seen as the long term plan, he was brought in to stablise an young squad.

Enzo’s ideals are solid. I would argue his Achilles heel is inability to make fluid changes in games. Enzo is great at planning for his opponent but in games where opponents come with a different plan he would often have to wait until half time to make adjustments. Last season he also struggled with knowing when to make substitutions. Enzo has his principles but he is rigidly attached to them. When things don’t go well he is not likely to change and this will cause tension with the Chelsea fanbase as it did at Leicester. I think he is honestly jumping at this opportunity bc he knows his reputation will be intact regardless of his success and that his principles really wouldn’t have worked with a Leicester squad starting the season with a deduction and without a war chest to spend on squad additions. Is he a good a manger? I think he could become one in time, but it will be hard for his approach to work at Chelsea.

So apparently Chelsea are going to give him a 5 year deal with the option of a further year the guy will be lucky to be there for a season. The amount of compo they have probably paid for hiring and sacking manager's is mad.

Gone before Christmas. They had Poch started to show stability now back to Sq 1. I support Leics and Enzo never had a plan wasn't sorry to see him go tbh, great achievement to get out of Championship but if he stayed I don't think we would of stayed up.

People complain about the possession based Pep style and I understand why.

But the thing is that football was always going to develop this way. If it wasn’t Pep it would be someone else.

Coaches are always going to be searching for the most effective way to play and if this it then it was always going to be found out and used.

But football is always developing and eventually there will most likely be a new style developed that out competes this style.

This is just the nature of elite sports. Everyone is trying to reach perfection and it is bound to be that when a more effective way of playing is figured out it will be the dominant style that people adopt.

It can be seen in all sports and it’s just the way things are.

Not only in sports though, it’s in everything. If a new business model is created for a steel manufacturing company they will out compete other businesses and therefore other steel manufacturing businesses will need to copy or put develop them, otherwise they will go bust.

You can apply it to the theory of evolution. The species that figures out the more optimal way to live will outcompete neighbouring species.

It’s just the natural progression of things, trying to find perfection.

I speak for all Chelsea fans when I say "We don't need more ENZO MARESCA Analysis Videos"

would like to see Diogo Costa, Jorrel Harto and Michael Olise as new signings.
Diogo Costa ist the perfect ball playing goalie Maresca wants.
Jorrel Harto the perfect young prospect for the left back, back three center back position.
And Olise can be world class on the right wing.

on the ball set-up: 3-2-2-3
Diogo Costa
Fofana-Colwil-Hato
Reece-Caicedo
Palmer-Enzo
Olise-Nkunku-Mudryk

off the ball: 4-3-3
Diogo Costa
Reece-Fofana-Colwil-Hato
Palmer-Caicedo-Enzo
Olise-Nkunku-Mudryk

Poch didn't get sacked. He walked away, mutual consent. Why, why, why does everyone say sacked on their videos ??? 🤔

Still running with the 'Sacked' narrative despite the fact he left by mutual consent. Even after he had given hints, he might walk away from the Chelsea job.

Moisés Caicedo will thrive in this style of play!
