I planted 2 white renier cherry trees. love those and they remind me of my grandma and my dad. Zhe had a massive renier Cherry tree and a black sweet cherry tree. looking forward to cherries in a few years.

Looks like you planted it super deep. Got to keep the graft point above the soil line.

No. You don't fertilize a tree the firs year. It needs time to establish before it puts on growth from an unnatural bump in available nutrients from below. Nature never mimics this setup. Instead, apply a deep mulch after watering in the roots.

You need to use the native soil when adding the soil back around the tree not bagged soil. This is not how you plant a tree.

Where did you purchaseyour tree...Im dying to get my hands on 2 trees. Lowes or home depot have been disappointing for the last 3 years. HELP! I'll even order on line if need be. Im in Central Alabama.

The crows here get them as soon as the ripen. No one has a chance to get thier cherries😢

Wrong, wrong, wrong. The hole was too deep, and soi amendments IN the planting hole has been debunked for 30 years in university research, etc. Those tree roots will be more stressed and 'not as eager' to go from the outrageously soft/easy soil in that planting hole into the expansive native soil conditions elsewhere. Stay in the kitchen.
