My M50's battery died right when I needed it filming the most. Twice on one trip. The A6400 has a "USB Power Supply" setting that allows it to be powered externally via USB (DC power, still uses some battery power when needed). I have a feeling I will be switching to Sony sometime in the future.

I too would go for the M50. I have the XT3 and I very seldom shoot in 4k. It takes up quite a bit of space and slows down my workflow drastically. The A6400 still a really good camera 👊🏼

So basically the Sony is the better quality camera, with autofocus, clarity, and image quality, but the Canon is much better in value, ergonomics, and versatility

I think that cameras compliment each other. The M50 for vlogging, and 6400 for b-roll, slow motion and stuff on a tripod.

I use to have canon m50. it a great camera for vlogging and easy to use with touch screen. I just bought Sony a6400 they're much better then m50 for sure. m50 is way too good for beginners and I'm not beginners anymore and decided to take next level so a6400.

I just wish Sony wasn’t so damn expensive! But I do agree with the “growing into” aspect. Because it would be nice to have a camera I can keep for awhile and not have to worry about upgrading again in another year or two.

The a6400 seems like the far better choice. It shoots 4K with no crop and full autofocus. It's weather-sealed as well, which should actually matter to vloggers because people who do that are often shooting outdoors. You can always get a cheap plate or a cage to add a cold shoe on either side of the camera, so that's an easy workaround for mic placement on the a6400 so it doesn't block the screen.

i’m sorry, the sony a6400 totally beats the M50! yeah it’s more expensive but so is just about anything that is better in quality. i also hate the plasticy cheap-looking form factor of the M50.
i guess it’s because i’m more of an advance user and 4k quality is my priority. but great comparison video guys!

The time limit on the Canon M50 was a deal breaker. I basically paid $400 more (plus additional money for a power bank, voltage converter, and dummy battery) for the Sony Alpha a6400 just to avoid the video recording time limit.

Thanks for the advice, will go with m50, i think its nice camera, not only from the price, but a good quantity to. A lot of people watch YouTube not in high quality, couse they watch from their mobile phones. And specifically good for the bugged to, the most important thing from YouTube isn't about camera, but a good contain 🤩
