With some home automation done through a Raspberry Pi this could easly be turned into a remote/portable interface to read maybe ambient sensors data and switch on and off lights, change modes and so forth. Pretty cool device!

when you hold on the palm of your hand, it doesn't look like a 2.4 inch screen though, unless you have a very small palm, im curious, my old sony ericsson xperia mini has a 3 inch phone looks smaller screen than this.
upon checking on their website, indeed they listed as 2.4 inch display, im very surprised by that.

I bought a Wio-Terminal, but I think it is broken. I can only get a micro SD card to fit in the reader if I insert it backward (metal contacts facing up/the same direction as the screen). The card fits very loosely in the reader. Finally, I can't get the Wio-Terminal to access the SD card when I insert one. Is it broken or is it just me? Thanks in advance.

Did you manage to work out if it can do monitor mode? O have been looking at the spec sheets and its says, AP, STATION, AP+STATION and even the rpcWiFi code states the same.

Would you be able to use it as a monitor for a cmd on a RPI through usb? For applications that are meant to run overnight or for long periods of time that you don't want to login with ssh all the time to monitor.
