You say it programs with arduino IDE, does that mean this device is basically a superpowered arduino?

I am currently working on a project with a mega, and it seems this device has everything built in that I was planning on connecting to the mega, except for a few sensors and outputs to relays. Do I address the screen the same way as a regular arduino TFT screen? Are the buttons simply connected to "pins" that I can assign functions just like an arduino?
