As conflict continues in Ukraine, the Army is boosting its presence in Eastern Europe this summer.

Thousands of British troops are conducting military exercises in the region including the King’s Royal Hussars Battlegroup in Poland.

Getting tanks, equipment and heavy armour to them is a Theatre Enabling Group which has based its headquarters at Sennelager in Germany.

Rob Olver explains.

40 years ago when I was in the US Army stationed in what was West Germany, I had the honor to work with British forces . They are true professionals and this video illustrates their level of proficiency in their mission. Great work guys………

When tanks are on the move, boy do you know they are on the move. I was living in Sennalager 1975-1979 when there was a mass movement of tanks one night. It wasn’t the noise that woke me it was the vibration of the tanks through the ground and we didn’t live near the station yard where the tanks were being loaded. They were the Chieftain tanks 56 tons of tank, multiplied by many. A Challenger2 tank holds the record for the longest ever recorded kill shot. And the Challenger crew are very well trained indeed.

The British have a disproportionately powerful military for its size; experts at doing more with less. They generally have our backs whatever conflict we get into. Great allies.

a well oiled western military machine, it has an actual logistics backbone, NATO nations maintain high standards and actual functional equipment and can carry out feats of logistics that boggle the mind, first i would think of would be the US' ability to deploy massive forces and equipment anywhere in the world with huge air transport capabilities.

Absolutely love this! Welcome to Poland Brits! 2 days in our sweet homeland and you will fully understand why most of us are in UK XD Joking aside - good to have your support on our soil, have a nice shootout with polish armour brigades of Leopard's 2 and T-72 tanks (whatever is left of the latter... recently we seemed to misplaced few hundred of those;-))

Having served in a logistics battalion and dabbled with 3D printing in civilian life, making spare parts that way seems like an extremely agile way of supporting military equipment! I didn't know it but my country's Defence Forces (Finland) does it as well! I really love it when people adopt such clever ways to solve complex problems, especially when defending one's homeland.

After WW2 most of the Tank Transporter drivers were actually displaced Poles who couldn´t return to Poland as the Communists would have arrested them, they were still driving them in the 1970´s, we called them Mojo´s for some reason.
Pretty Ironic that these are moving now to take British tanks to Poland, something many Mojo´s had only ever dreamed of.

The British military branches are among the best trained, highly disciplined, honorable forces on the planet. Thank you all for your service, although I am American I am keenly aware that with out the British military, life for my family and myself would be significantly less abundant.
