Linux is awesome. I can never imagine going back to Windows. It is so customizable which can literally give you a new OS daily if you wanted. You can customize the "start" button or even your disto's neofetch logo. Just awesome.

Running Manajro and Garuda on the same system at the moment. So far Im likeing them both. Manajro has been my main for the last year and it remains super stable. Ive had issues with other Arch based distros.

I'd argue Garuda gives Manjaro a serious run for its money at this point.

The problem I had when using Majaro is the community for the most part is unhelpful and the developers always wanted to argue with people and think there right. A developer should always listen to it's community. That bugged me so much I Just threw my hands up and just said this is not worth it and left. Been using Fedora on my computer and got my dad on ZorinOS as he is not really computer literate. He is 72 and ZorinOS has been the best OS for him with very minimal problems .

I used Manjaro for the last 3 years it was my first linux distro but I switched to Nobara on my desktop PC and I'll reinstall my laptop with Fedora too. Manjaro was good and I still really like it. I never had any big problems with it but I wanted to try out new things too. In the 3 years I used Manjaro I only had to reinstall my laptop twice. The first was on me actually because I started an upgrade and it failed right after it finished pre-transaction hooks and it started upgrading packages. And instead of trying to re-run the update for some reason I thought it would be the worlds greatest idea to restart my computer. Turned out it was not a great idea :D The second one was some gnome and GDM issue I didn't want to debug and resolve so I just reinstalled :D But yeah, Manjaro was and is great, I like it but it's time to see and experience some new things and maybe one day I will return, who knows?

The way I see it, Manjaro is a very user-friendly Arch spin if you don't use the AUR. Not switching from my Arco KDE any time soon, though.

By the way, I agree. Dolphin is the best.

Great video as usual mare, I am testing Manjaro in my Garage, but I am just leaving it on the manjaro repository, at the moment everything is fine, I update it every couple if weeks and fingers crossed everything seems fine.

For the heck of it and because I'm curious I'm going to try Open Office. Manjaro was a test OS for me last year. It's OK but MX is much more useful to me. Manjaro is a good way to try Arch.

The majority of the video compliments KDE Plasma and not Manjaro itself. Manjaro is great for simple everyday use and gaming. It is also great for someone who comes from MS dos, sorry windows I wanted to say and the bash really scares them. It works out of the box. It's good. Many other distros based on Arch are great too. I like Endeavor. I use Arch btw. One installation has Hyprland and the other one has Plasma. I hope more people start using LiGnux.

I don't think I'd go back to Manjaro as I had too many stability issues with it and got sick of reinstalling every 3-6 months. I've been running Fedora based distro's for the last 6 months or so and generally finding them more stable. Still get crashes occasionally if I'm running a few high CPU apps at ones, but a reboot fixes it. At least it's not a total system meltdown where I couldn't even login which is what I'd constantly get with Manjaro. It's a shame as Manjaro is super simple to use and has a lot of apps installed out of the box that are useful.

I really like dolphin as a FM too (part of the reason I like KDE as well). I use it similar to the way windows does with expandable trees. Although it works better as you have the ability to split windows.

App menus I generally don't care too much for regardless of the layout, as I use search anyway. I know what app I generally want and high use apps have an icon on the task bar to quick launch.

Manjaro i3 from community and Mabox linux based on manjaro, are the only working manjaro at the moment. Don't know if the devs take the time to fix manjaro devs mess, or the fact that they don't have gnome/kde, or both things

Hey, I've been distro hopping for the past year and I've never felt more comfortable than in manjaro, I love Ubuntu but it was always slower than other distros. Fedora has nice work flow but some stuff annoys me, manjaro was the one that felt pretty comfortable for me as just a person which uses pc just to browse the Internet, download anime stuff like that, but I don't agree with manjaro policies, money management stuff like that. I think of going for endeavor os or garuda, but are they user friendly? I'm Linux newbie totally, you have to think I'm just someone who starts Linux adventure. Can you recommend me something guys?

As an ordinary human, is there a reason I'd want Arch in particular and need Manjaro to tailor it for me?

I'm trying out Fedora (GNOME) after having started with Linux Mint (Cinnamon) and Fedora seems like a winner (though I might opt for a different desktop environment).

Mankato is, in my opinion, the best Arch based distro for people who just want to set it up and let it sit there and do what it does. I think for those who are obsessed with checking updates it can prove to be a problem, especially if you install AUR packages. It is easy to set up. It looks great at first boot so that if you’re a person who doesn’t care about customizing further you already have a good looking desktop. It comes with a software center pre installed so that a new user can open it and peruse for what they need. With the KDE version you can give it a look that will dazzle.

Too many arch based systems are not that easy to set up once installed. They may not come with pamac preinstalled, for example, or the documentation is bad.

You mention bleeding edge, but user friendliness is not about the bleeding edge. In fact, the bleeding edge may not be good for the common user.

Like many Linux enthusiasts you fail to understand what a common user expects and needs. They don’t care about the AUR or about being at the absolutely latest version of everything. Many will not even know what the version of most apps is.

As long as the security updates are installed in a timely manner that’s all that really makes a difference for many.
