I was doing apartment maintenance last year when I got a request for a microwave replacement in one of the units. When I knocked on the door a man answered and I said ( Sir I'm here to replace your microwave) He looked at me and began to cry hysterically which both surprised me and made me feel very uncomfortable. Then he proceeded to tell me that I wasn't welcome in his apartment and the management would have to send someone else who would respect his pronouns. He identified as a female but I had no idea I should have addressed him as such because he was obviously a male. I didn't apologize or anything, I just "walked away" and felt freaked out over the whole weird situation.
