The error is writing 3(2+2). Some people say this increases the priority of the implied x. So write it as (3(2+2)) if that's what you want.

Perfectly correct. You are great, but don't tell the people whose Nswer is 1

All you do is separate the two 12divided by 3=4 so you have 4 then (2+2) in parentheses =4 so you have 4 (4) the number in parentheses is multiplied by the outer number so it’s 4x4=16

Why complicate this, PEMDAS. You don't do the math from left to right...but in the necessary order if operation.

I think the first is correct, in that case U SUPPOSE TO deal with brackets first

Implied multiplication tables precedence over normal multiplication and division. Also, the obelus means the same as everything to the left over everything to the right.

You don't use order of operations here (no one uses it past year 6). You change the ÷ to a fraction bar first to write in proper modern notation.

12

3(2+2)

This is equal to

12

12

Which is 1.

If you used order of operations and didn't change the obelus to a fraction bar, you get 16, but that also means you're like 5 years old.

a÷b(c+d)=a÷(bc+bd). Answer 1.
In reverse, a÷(bc+bd)= a÷b(c+d), form shown, answer 1
