I have basically worn flip-flops all my life, so I was used to walking with thinner and flatter shoes. Over the last couple of years, I began walking barefoot most of the time and I even began used to walking on rocks, gravel and I went extreme to broken bricks lol. Overall My feet feel so much more relaxed and broken bricks is honestly relaxing.

The way I look at barefoot shoes is that the shoes don't hurt, the ground does. Rushing to take them off at the end of the day is pointless because they aren't the source of your pain, but regular shoes that squish your toes and weaken your feet are. I'm only a few months into barefoot shoes and I had to do a lot to fix my gait because of my overpronation, but I can stand all day at my new retail job in some Lems shoes and just be a little sore when I get home. Not sore enough to stop me from running up and down the stairs in the house though. It's a different kind of soreness.

I just bought a pair of Xero Scrambler Lows.

Their marketing talks about people falling asleep with their shoes still on because they're so comfortable, and they didn't lie!

They're the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn, and I can feel my feet adjusting to better walking and running gaits already.

They literally feel like soft spacious gloves for your feet that somehow still remain in position.

I truly felt the joy of running again in these. I'm like a little kid, just running for the fun of it.

I actually climbed Angels Landing all the way to the top in barefoot shoes!! It was so nice!! Angels landing is a mountain of 500 meters in national park Zion

You can get shoes with wide toebox with cushioning. If you want toe splay with cushion Altra has a lot of options. Or you can use them as a transition to full barefoot as well to experience toe splay zero drop before you drop the cushioning

I'm definitely not the target audience, I have narrow feet and my feet literally flip from side to side when walking, it is incredibly uncomfortable

I’m a barefooter and have been for 3 years and take pain from walking on gravel and blacktop without any problems. I just recently got some barefoot shoes a few days ago and have gotten used to them. By the way, nice anklet! I know how to some out of paracord.

Part of the reason I got barefoot shoes was to feel everything underfoot, and I’m a bit sad about how shoe-like the ones I got are! My friend has fully leather boots like leather socks, and they say they can feel everything and that sounds really cool. I also wanted them for quadrobics, since I do that, and they aren’t as flexible as I thought lol. Still probably much better then my boots!

The main idea behind the adoption of barefoot shoes is that we are not made to walk in man-made, narrow, upholstered shoes with heels. Ok, but why not take that logic further? We are also not made to walk on man-made, flat, hard concrete. A lot of barefoot shoe walkers are walking around the city for hours, not understanding that. Barefoot shoes: yes...but only in nature, where the ground is softer and uneven. The range of motion in your foot when walking on hard, flat concrete is no different in barefoot shoes than in any other shoe: it is just as reduced because the ground is flat, hence, your foot muscles are under-utilized. It doesnt make any difference on hard, flat ground. Therefor, barefoot shoes in the city give no benefit at all over any other shoe. Remember how hard it is to walk in sand? That's because your foot muscles have to work hard to propel you forward in your gait, because your foot sinks in to the soft sand. Same as when you're walking on an uneven grassy plain. You're not going to get that in barefoot shoes in the city, quite the opposite, because the ground is flat. You're just repeating the same range of motion for hours, again and again. So yes, i think that barefoot shoes are great...but in nature. As they are trendy right now, a lot of people are just wearing them in the city, without any benefits and probably also doing damage to their joints and knees on hard pavement for hours.

Historically a lot of shoes were made in a turn shoe manner so it was like socks for ur feet similar to this lol

I’m glad I see her with pretty toes. I. Thinking about switching my family over to this and many have told me that these shoes cause thic callouses on your foot. I don’t want my lady with rough feet at all. But seeing her feet are pretty as hell it gives me confidence
