I am an 80 yr old Nana all set to call a plumber also. The video was so well explained. I went to Home Depot purchased a gasket for under $8. There is actually a packet labeled for Koehler. I couldn’t twist it from the top and was afraid I’d snap the tower. I lifted the cylinder and twisted it off near the bottom. Put the new gasket on. I was so pleased with myself.

I am a 72 yr old granny who was all set to spend $150 to have a Plumber come and stop my toilet from running. This video took all the mystery out of fixing the problem and it was the first time I ever tried to fix something by watching an online video. My friend and I spent about 10 minutes pulling the cylinder out and cleaning off the gasket. Girl power at work...THANKS for making this so easy to understand.

When I first saw this toilet at my daughters house I was overwhelmed to work on it. After watching your video and fixing her slow leak I’m still her amazing dad. Thanks again.

Glad I have a Kohler. I watched this video, ordered the part from Amazon, and fixed it in about 5 minutes!!!! Thanks to these videos, you can do most everything by yourself, and I'm 78.

I have been searching for how to fix my toilet for months. I accidently stumbled across this and boy, I am so glad. I already paid a plumber friend last year to fix it to no avail. Now I can do it myself and know it's fixed. By the way, I am a 71-year-old woman living on a fixed income. These things are important to me. I also loved that you dispelled the notion that all the gunky stuff was nothing to be bothered with. You made me believe I could fix it. One of best videos I've watched. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I searched this video after installing a brand new kholer that was running. The video did not solve my problem, but as a result of inspecting the mechanical parts I found the solution for my situation. The chain which connects the arm to the float was installed too tight out of the factory. I had to unclip the chain and install it on the next loosest link. Now the toilet works and is no longer running continuously

Thank you for this video, I bet I watched over 20+ videos and yours is the one that helped me fix my toilet!!! I have this same toilet and I did not know all that info is inside the lid. I was able to order my flush handle from Amazon as well with the part number from the lid. THANK YOU from this 67 yo woman!!

Fantastic tutorial...I'm a recently retired white collar guy and now with a fixed income I'm trying to become more handy vs outsourcing which I've always done in the past and this was very helpful!!

Thanks so much for sharing this! It's our first night staying in our relative's apartment in NYC, and the toilet wouldn't stop running! I was sure I'd be up all night. After watching your video, I realized that the pink gasket had folded, and that was the reason for the leak. How nice to hear silence, and I'm looking forward to an undisturbed rest!

In addition to the helpfulness of the instructions, I enjoyed how adorably Canadian he is at 5:02 "We hope you enjoyed this - well, enjoyed is probably a bit strong..." 😂😍

I had a hardware store counter guy warn me to NOT twist the disc at the top, but to reach down under and twist the base. He says he has several people a month come in with the disc broken off. I did this seal replacement to day and took his advice, worked fine. In this video your hear the *creak* as he twists it, that's the bound up base that can cause it to break.
The seal was a 2-pak for $10

I was all set to go out and get a gasket but tried your suggestion of rubbing the gasket to get off any water calcification and it worked! Thank you so much. Best tip ever!

Thank you for your clear instructions. I ordered the part from Home Depot and fixed it in no time. I've never done anything like this before. The toilet does not run anymore!

Thank you! Your demonstration on how to take the unit apart helped me to fix mine. It is not the gasket, but clogged inlets; but I cleaned it up and it now works. Bravo!

Brother, thank you so much for helping me escape a severe annoyance that repeated itself every 1-5 minutes. The noise was driving me nuts and I couldn't take it anymore. I noticed my water bill jumped about $10 then put 2 & 2 together and realize it was due to a bad gasket. Thank you for sharing!!!

A plumber quoted me $350 without even seeing the issue all I described was the hissing noise. I tackled it myself with your video on hand. I feel very empowered as a result. Thank you sooo much Hid bless you for your service to your community.
