After rebuilding the Holley 4160 (List Number 1850-10), the 1966 289 Mustang ran great except for one thing - if it sat for several minutes after being warmed up, it was really hard to start. Here's how Kailey fixed it.

Parts Used:
eBay - 1" Ported / 4 Hole Phenolic Carburetor Spacer

Super cool first car for a young lady and I just LOVE that she is interested in how it works and how to maintain it. My daughter had no interest learning about cars from me but now at 35 she fully services and works on her cats her house and loves projects like furniture restoration. My son too is 32 and he's the same. They never wanted to actively engage in working with me on cars but have learned a lot by them selves and can do lots in the way of life skills. So they must have paid attention at some point LOL. Thanks for sharing your skills cheers

Most builds, I simply start with a 1/4" phenolic 4 hole spacer and go from there. I presently run a Demon, which doesn't put up with a drop base air cleaner as much as the typical 4160 will [bowls are a little different]. So, .. I had a 1" aluminum spacer milled down to make the combo about 7/8" tall, which helps with hood clearance so as to not skimp on the air filter.
