Mike’s playing style is very much instinctive. That’s why his live solos on the same songs vary from show to show and adds to the uniqueness of each Pearl Jam concert. I love listening to Mike shred his guitar during live performances.

Just to add, I know Mike loves Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and plays fast-paced heavy solos, but his instinctive and play by feel style would have fit in with the Grateful Dead. I can seek Mike in a different time playing extended jams with his eyes closed on stage with the Dead. Glad he’s in PJ though!! 😀

Mike você é o melhor guitarrista solo que vi ao vivo nessa vida. Não tive oportunidade de ver Jerry Garcia nos projetos JGB, mas tive oportunidade de vê-lo 11 vezes no Brasil, junto ao PJ. Um bom exemplo são as performances de "Even flow", posso dizer que a melhor execução, melhor versão da música, acaba sendo definida pelos seus solos, seu momento é único a cada execução da música. Até hoje tenho dúvida se a segunda noite no Morumbi em 2011, ou Maracanã 2018, não importa, você é grande, e muito bom no que faz. Seu auxílio é luxuoso, valorizo muito seu desempenho. Faço questão nos shows do Pearl Jam, ficar ao lado que você toca no palco, só para poder contemplar sua desenvoltura, sua habilidade bem de perto.
