I close my eyes and I can see young Eddie Vedder singing this song, his voice is the same, Unreal!

Their lyrics have an emotional depth no other band has. They pick out individuals, usually oppressed or misunderstood, and paint their story. This song is so sad when you realise what it’s about.

My sister and I saw both shows GA in Seattle, right after our Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We weren’t even going to go after we found out. Our love for this band made us go. A bucket list trip for us both. I remember crying so hard during “Alive”. It was the only thing we BOTH hung onto so hard….seeing the band that pumps our blood…one moment taking you to the next. This band has saved me more than once. I hope I get to be in their presence again.

They are the most magical band of all time. No matter what genre you prefer listening to, no matter how old you are, no matter where in the world you live - - EVERYONE loves Pearl Jam. A damn good band with an abundance of real honest talent. We are so blessed that after 30 years they are still out there sharing their gift with us

My God, this is a glorious version of such a classic PJ song. Have loved this song for 25+ years, and to hear it done like this, with the crowd, the energy. Eddie's freestyle section. I've got

Am this simple man. Eddie is like that, beautiful, dear, passionate, a voice with a wonderful timbre... and even these little cries he makes. Too much. The best.

This is absolutely one of the best live performances I've ever experienced, whether online or in person. Sadly, this was not in person. I can only imagine how amazing it must have been to be there for this. It's Okay part blows my mind with every repeat. The vocal quality has aged like a fine wine. Unreal session - so so so happy I found this and I can keep coming back for more. Literally EVERYONE (including the crowd) was amazing here.

I can see how people can sink to the depths of despair and can’t see the way out. So much of this song rings true. Some people don’t deserve the title “mother”.

Thank you for this song.

Cannot love this enough!! Saw them last year in London and better than I've ever heard. Eddie always gives 100!!! Heard them live back in the 90s and comparable but different in a good way. This song will forever be my favourite because I suffered abuse from my mother and it speaks volumes to me! Also the crowd singing "rise above" makes me feel other people can connect too. Eddie is an amazing songwritier and I just never ever get sick of listening to pearl jam songs over and over again.
