Fitness challenges using devices like Fitbit have become popular at American companies. There's just one problem--some people cheat. The Wall Street Journal employed a dog, among other things, to rack up steps without stepping. Video/Photo: Rob Alcaraz/The Wall Street Journal

A part of a work fitness walking thing now. Same thing is happening I have no idea how people were getting 45, 000 steps in 1 day. Here I am getting up early, talking half my lunch, before and after dinner, just go try to get 10K. I’m already pretty fit no need to do all these steps anyway, it’s taking away my time from my regular workouts now, so my other workouts are suffering, just to try to now I find not even keep up…now it it makes me sick to my stomach so many are most likely cheating. There’s no way humanly possible so many are at 200, 000 plus steps after barely 2 weeks into this 4 weeks challenge. Now I now how maybe some are doing it. Shame

That is speaking a lot about their internal motivation and level of self worth which is pathetic grade.

Illogical. If you have decided to wear a pedometer - you are serious about accurate assessment of your health. You aren't a child who's being forced to do this. Why would anyone want to lie to THEMSELVES? WEIRD.

My dad makes me walk 15000 steps and it takes all my free time away..I'm not lazy but i just want to do something i actually like instead of do homework for 2 hours, walk for 2/3 hours and then eat dinner and go to bed early, because 'i need sleep so i can participate in class'. Ugh..
