Once I watched how the grown fledglings ask for food from their parents. Adults fed them reluctantly, and often ate the tastiest morsels. And so the father went to a tasty piece of chicken, stood over it and prepared to eat, pretending not to notice the children surrounding him. Suddenly, one fledgling, standing closest, suddenly made up his mind and, continuing to croak pleadingly, ran under the very beak of his father and grabbed a piece of food right on the run! And he shouted twice as loudly as usual, while he ran; probably, right on the run, he realized what he was doing, and got scared! But the father only looked after him and slowly went in search of new food. Perhaps deep down he was pleased with the success of his chick :)

We have a feeding area in our front yard, crow tribes are all over, they all come to eat here. They make the best parents you've ever seen!!

Not a morsel of food gets wasted. Dad even cleaned up the food around the babies mouth and what fell on the ground.
