Great demenstration. Even dogs and cats will do the same, but some owners dont get it and cause crazy stress to them.

Amazing advice. I'm a reptile keeper and my young relative asked me one time if my bearded dragon bites. I told her all animals bite, it's your job not to make them want to bite you.

just like a cat! she says "I'm done being pet, thank you. but you don't have to leave we're still friends!"

A magpie befriended me last week it jumped right on my hand after 3rd day of visiting me. Amazing

It's when you respect an animal, that you can finally make real friends with them.

Respect animals boundaries as well as humans boundaries. Very cool!

Respecting humans boundaries too is a good thing.

Such good insight! I have a snake and people think they're the same as dogs and cats.

I live by a very simple rule, when kitty is on her cat tree perch or in her igloo she is not to be petted, unless she gives the "pet me eyes" and nose wave. I firmly believe that even she needs privat and safe spaces and time for herself.

Body language is everything, my conure will always let me know when he's done being pet, and he will really let me know when he wants to be pet lol. He will run after my hand, lean against it and fluff up his head feathers like "c'mon, pet me already"

I have a cat and a lot of people think they're just mean to be mean, but a lot of the time people assume their mannerisms are like a dog's and that they should allow you to touch them all the time. this is dangerous because this shows that people don't really understand cats or their boundaries.

Beautiful crow. Like it wears a tuxedo!

What a gorgeous lady bird! Love the shimmering purple on her feathers. Watching body language is important with any animal wild or domestic. It is key to creating trust, stronger bonds, and respect.

I once cared for a fledgling raven I called Ruckus that was injured when it's nest was blown down in a wind storm on a ranch I briefly lived on. They're surprisingly expressive and affectionate birds. By the time it was healthy enough to fly and perch with it's siblings it would hop on my arm when I held it out and always greeted me when I left my home. I sometimes wish I could've kept it as a pet but after all it was a wild animal and was happy hanging out with it's raven friends.

I love that you respect her boundaries and don’t force her to interact if she doesn’t want to. So great to see someone reading animals body language

Great example 😊 Some people forget that it’s a two way street with animals. You have to give them respect, and they’ll respect you back.

My pet birbs do the same thing. When they step back one knows, that if they don’t stop petting, they gonna get the bite.

You can also tell that she doesn't mind the love the way she dips her head and her eyes do that crazy lid thing.
Love it!
