A melhor coisa desse vídeo do Geography now é ele mostrar o Cristiano Ronaldo como se fosse brasileiro

Aqui no Brasil também chamamos o sanduíche de presunto e queijo de "misto", talvez seja por influência da língua espanhola.

I’m a Brazilian, and I am really impressed with the video, it is surprisingly acured, he got most of it spot on.
Still wondering how he found out about the cookie thing and the acre joke.

0:10 - I don't know if he put the photo of the "wrong" Ronaldo on purpose or as a joke, but I fear that a lot of people who don't follow football might not know he's Portuguese. It'd have been better to have added a photo of OG Ronaldo or Ronaldinho Gaúcho, both unbelievable stars.

So I'm going to recommend a Brazilian book: Capitães da Areia (Captains of the Sands) by Jorge Amado. IMO, this is easily one of the best books ever written by a Brazilian author.

The author from City of god (1997), his name is Paulo Lins, and the movie with the same name came out in 2002. In portuguese, Cidade de Deus.

Just a quick additional info: there is ANOTHER triple frontier in Brazil, not only the one in Mount Roraima. The other one is far to the south, in the Iguaçu Falls (the "ç" letter is pronounced like an S in the word "sack"). At that spot, the triple frontier is between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay.

To answer the question in the description box: I'm portuguese and back in my school days (early 70's) I was taught the 5 continents' model (Europe, America, Asia, Africa and Oceania) but I can accept the addition of Antarctica, so if you ask me now I'd answer 6. 🙂

Hey, i am brazilian researcher and i thought it was important to add a comment:

Actually, the amazon's deforestation isn't related to any needs of providing more food for Brazil's future generations coming. Most of the food available on local markets we shop here are from much smaller sized and familiar managed agricultural business and communities.

In general, Amazon deforestation happens so big farmers which own most of the agricultural land in Brazil can profit way more by using our land to enrich basically only themselves, mostly selling commodities internationally. These groups act pretty much like a mafia do: they are organized and resourcefull, having great influence on our political system and are also heavily militarized.

8:30 regarding the racial pie graph, I think it’s important to point out that Brazil’s racial demographics (as said in the video) are decided on self identification, and there’s still a lot of anti-black sentiment in Brazil (which leads a lot of Brazilians to whiten themselves, on official records anyway). So, a lot of those “pardo” people are actually just black and a lot of “white” people are pardo (mixed race). Also, the 0, 5 indigenous population is true but not really. For you to identify as indigenous in Brazil you have to be culturally indigenous, but due to colonialism most Brazilians are far removed from their indigenous ancestry. In the northern states plus some of the more western states of the northeast and the state of Mato Grosso you get tons of people who are obviously of predominantly indigenous descent (in terms of blood) but cannot identify as indigenous officially.
