For the record, I grew up climbing trees as a kid in Minnesota. That's why.
Obrigado Brazil, Espero poder voltar algum dia.

You lived a genuine brazillian family new year's eve, this is the side of Brasil that rarely people from other countries get in touch with.

Dude! I haven't climbed a jackfruit tree since I was a kid. You had an authentic Brazilian country boy experience right there.

Even though you didn't get to experience what Brasil normally shows to the world (beaches, samba, rain forests) which are indeed true brazilian expressions, you managed to get a sense of the other brasil (which is actually the majority of brasil). The interior and its large farmlands, new fruits and flavors, people who arent "used" to foreigners so will treat you the "brazilian way" without having an "act" towards gringos.
Both are amazing, but I feel you got a bit more than the average turist.

I love how your second best Brazilian friend seems so protective of your mom. He's always by her like he's keeping her safe.

15:10 - These trees are called "Araucarias", basically conifers adapted to warmer regions. As there is practically no snow in Brazil (only on very rare occasions and in very specific regions), Araucarias don't have the notorious shape of pine trees from the northern hemisphere, as their conical shape makes it easier for snow to slide down their branches.

Bro, this is actually the best video about Brazil I’ve ever seen!

As a Brazilian, I finally feel like someone got to experience the daily life and culture of that region.
Amazing content, keep up the good work ❤

The little crochet dress on the "propane gas tank" (dunno how it's called in english, whatever) in 4:11
represents Brasil more than samba and feijoada

Hi, Barbs! Brazilian fan here, and while some people are talking about how much of Brazil still to be seen and explored by you in your next trips (and I agree, there are a ton of excellent and unique places), I'd like to say how happy and impressed I was with you and your mom being able to taste what the real Brazilian experience is, at least for me.
You had the oportunity to go to two of the most tipical day-to-day life scenarios for dozens of millions of Brazilians: the urban middle and lower class houses in São Paulo (which is alike at the other metropolitan areas as well), and the small cities at the countrysides. That's two major Brazilian experiences that almost no tourist has.
Thank you for your video, and please come back soon!

I'm Brazilian but I immigrated to America 25+ years ago when I was a teen. My best memories are from my childhood in Brazil. Climbing trees is one of them. 💚💛🥺
