Thanks for suggesting this guys! I read a lot of Emails from YOU guys the Arab geograpeeps trying to summarize the Arab countries, OBVIOUSLY not everything here will be completely agreed on but this is generally based on what you said plus help from Mohab from the Egypt episode. ENJOY!

I remember my holiday with my family 12 years ago in Syria...God...it was a PARADISE. The people were so friendly, the sites were so beautiful. That country was the whole package. It was amazing...I am terribly sorry for the syrian people that got caught in the conflicts but..if any syrian is reading this comment...I love you brother! Stay strong, your country and its people deserve more!

Sounds like the old joke about Europe, "Heaven is where the police are British, the lovers French, the mechanics German, the chefs Italian, and it is all organized by the Swiss.
Hell is where the police are German, the lovers Swiss, the mechanics French, the chefs British, and it is all organized by the Italians."

I know this video is old, but i feel like i have to say this
As a Syrian who lived in Jordan for 5 years, I can tell you that Lebanese dialect is way closer to our dialect than it is to the Jordanian dialect

I might be exaggerating, but there is little to no similarities between these two dialect

Iraq is the goth kid that used to be the most important and popular kid back in the 60s, 70s and 80s

Iraq was known for the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and Mesopotamia. The Syrian Capital of Damascus is known as one of if not the oldest Capital's in the World. I am mentioning this as Positive things about these 2 Countries because at this moment they are known for the Wars and conflicts in the region.

Hey, everybody. Mohab here!

I have no idea if this comment will be seen by anyone or drown underneath the thousands of comments. Oh, well. Here's hoping...

Now, I'd like to clarify a few things:

1) I sincerely apologize for the mistake about the similarity of dialects I mentioned in the video. I concur 100% that it's Syria and Lebanon that are very close, not Jordan and Lebanon. Honest mix-up that was overseen by me.

2) Barby had to edit out quite a LOT to stay within the time frame of Geography Now's episodes. A loaded topic like this can be covered over hours long, and there will still be a lot left out. 22 countries in 17 minutes? I think he did a terrific job.

3) There isn't a racist bone in my body, and I never tolerate any discrepancy or hate of any sort. Please understand that my view is simply my own, there's absolutely no way I can be 100% neutral and politically correct in everyone's eyes, simply because I'm a human being with personal experience and voice.

4) And lastly, I'm utterly grateful for every compliment anyone might have kindly shared above, just as I gracefully accept any mockery or insult as well. Freedom of speech is a wonderful privilege we should all enjoy, but at the same time be reminded that karma is a real thing. 🙂

I hope you all have a terrific day/night, wherever you are, and that you have a reason to smile as you read this. 🙏🏽😊

I'm Eritrean and arabic is my first language :) ppl just assume that i'm sudanese/djiboutian or some sort of black-arab XD like that one time I visited Egypt and most ppl thought that i was a nubian (black-egyptian). I really love the arab world :)

Great video as always keep it up !

Hey guys as Somali we aren't Arabs, we are 100% African. We are Muslim but that doesn't mean we're Arabs. We are black and proud of that

There's a huge difference between Arab and Muslim just cause someone is Muslim doesn't mean they're Arab. Somalia is not Arab we're black and proud Djibouti as well.🇸🇴🇩🇯

"We probably offended half of everybody..." LOL.
Thank you, guys, for so amazing videos. I love your channel because you are not afraid to say some facts which could be "inconvenient" for somebody, but you are not afraid of that, you are telling them with fun, humor, honesty and ease, so high five from me!

Hey, a Comorian here! Thank you so much for mentioning us. The archipelago is so small that anyone knows about us 🤣. Our culture is super mixed with arab, african, indian influences. That mixed heritage is shown within the population. And actually, no one speak arabic fluently. It's just one of the official languages because we have a huge arab heritage and because we are muslims. But Comorians knows how to read and write arabic. Basically, in our official documents (passports, ID, etc.), we have French and arabic written. Comorian language is a kind of variant of Swahili. If some of you have ever been in Tanzania especially in Zanzibar or Dar es Salam, that's basically the same thing. You should come. It's very beautiful and we are very welcoming 😻☺️.
