Milo with another great video. Took one lesson with him a few months ago trying to get my game back and have gained back 2 clubs with my irons and 30-40 yards off the tee.

Great Video Milo. Took video lesson about 9 months ago and finally understand and implemented width in backswing and rotation, getting out of the way. 77 yes young shot 76 using wide right arm and rotation. 12 fairway, 11 greens, two birdies, 2 3-putts. Thanks for your help

Terrific and very helpful! Hope you don’t mimd me saying but the position at 5.11 is I think the Impact Curtain position recommended by DST Compressor Bertie Cordle

Thanks Milo this is exactly what I am doing with my chest turning into the lead arm but need to turn hips more and try and keep Ernie’s box in place for longer, many thanks will try today.

Milo, would you please explain what. Cover the ball with chest means in the golf swing? I believe I have heard the concept expressed by Peter Costas when he was a commentator for CBS.

I like your videos. Can you answer two things or bring out a video on this. First how and when does the right arm straighten. second, being a lefty but swinging all sports right. I have issues with the throwing analogies as I throw right, but swing clubs right. Thanks

It's like hitting an outside pitch to right center field. Pull only hitters have an earlier quick swivel to get the fat part of the bat out in front of the plate for contact. A spray hitter who spots one out over the plate, micro-seconds the hands out in front of the bat with the meat trailing slightly for a liner over the second baseman's head. The golfswing straightens it out because of rotation. Played ball for 15 years. Who do I contact to make arrangements for a couple of half-days with Milo and arrangements for room and board? The Superstition Resort? I would be flying in fully vaccinated. ;)

Hey Milo. I know you say the arms don't feel like they do much but maybe you could expand on that. Are they "dead" feeling and just along for the ride or just holding the structure, etc? Some feels you use or have had students use for example since everyone feels different things.

The arms-along-for-the-ride feel doesn't feel very powerful or get a great result for me. I already fight getting a little stuck anyway so I already have to be careful letting the body do it all.

Keep the content coming though.

But what do you hit the ball with? That is where does the speed come from? Are the arms like limp noodles and we just try to sling them at or through the ball, or do we use the muscles in our shoulders or left or right arm or right hand to generate the speed????

Thanks for this great follow-up video, Milo. The flinging of the arms, or lack thereof, has been my primary focus for reaching the next level. So far I haven’t really felt a “fling” that assures me of swing optimization.

Last night, however, after viewing this video I made several practice swings in my garage and focused on my lat which you pointed out as being fully loaded in the early downswing. At about P 5 1/2 I consciously flung the lat together with the upper oblique and immediately felt the fling in my arms. I also felt my loaded shoulder blade unload well after impact.

Just wondering if the unloading I just described is the action you are referring to.

Thanks so much. You are the best!

Flinging a Frisbee, (you would always fling it further with your lead arm even tho its your left, )is a good drill .Even imagining flinging it! is good, probably be even better if it was heavier, maybe a dinner plate!

Ive played for years and have always pinned my right arm which has forced me to release early. I wish the video had gone on further. My right elbow is pinned and would really like to get it to move in front of my right hip. Anyway thanks for the video. I really like how you reference you baseball swing to golf, something I can relate to.

Also figuring out how to move/use your right side in a throwing action but also maintaining pressure on index knuckle see pages 28-31 of Hogans book

Guys, what about the former lessons where you spoke about “staying connected” in the golf swing? I’ve had success with that in the past and this seems to contradict that somewhat.

Perhaps to prevent your arms getting stuck and to sling your arms and club thru and to have forward shaft lean at impact it would be thru your intent of what you are doing to the club. Instead of hitting the ball pushing the club head forward, you should have the intent of catching or collecting the ball and sling it forward in a way that it goes toward your target, kind of like a tennis back hand where your wrist is actually slight bent backward and you have the feeling of collecting the ball and slinging it forward?? This would seem to fit the way the golf club is designed where the clubhead is on the very end and angled so that in order to trap the ball you have to have forward shaft lean, as opposed to a baseball bat the sweet spot is not right on the end.

You explained my baseball swing exceptionally well. My golf swing is a UGLY and does not look fluid. More good info Milo.
