Husband had food poisoning so badly that he was sent directly from our home to the local hospital via ambulance. I have NEVER seen him so very sick. Kidneys were shutting down, and he developed extreme dehydration that was life- threatening. He believed, because the ham was smoked, that the ham would be fine for a toasted sandwich. He had to be hospitalized for almost a week and came very close to losing his life.

Yet in spite of the awful situation, I truly believe he experienced a miracle. While in hospital, he had a stroke while medical intake info was being recorded. He was in bad shape anyway with the food poisoning, but in the blink of an eye, he had totally lost his speech, and one side of his face had drooped badly. All of this happened in a split second. And that’s what saved his life.

He received attention immediately and the drs managed to perform much-needed tests to determine why the stroke had occurred and what damage it had done.

Come to find out he had a 99% blockage in his carotid artery. He never would have survived the trip to the hospital had he been home at the moment of the stroke. At the hospital he was able to receive a new drug that targets strokes and lessens their intensity. It was a miracle, and I am forever grateful for the drs (not to mention God) who made the this miracle happen.

Moral(s) of this story:

- Don’t think a food, if smoked, is adequately heated through and ready to eat.
- Be grateful for the little miracles that occur every day all around us, especially those that might use an assist by others. They are still miracles in the fullest sense of the word. My husband was in the right place at the right time to be treated. And that alone is pretty miraculous.
- Never, ever lose hope. Even in the bleakest of times, God is present, working the messy, painful moments of life to His purposes and for good.
- Although a well-worn trope, it is true: Life is precious. Cherish each and every moment, and live to the fullest.
- My husband is fine now but it was touch and go for awhile. The situation made both of us stop in our tracks and consider our mortality and how we are using our gifts of life. Don’t wait until a stroke to do just that!

Im 50 years old and *IF THIS IS FOOD POISONING* Then i have never had food poisoning, ate food that shot through me like a bullet, ate food that has me doing the butt-clench-duck-walk to the bathroom every 30 minutes, but never threw up or had the cold sweats or severe stomach pains.

Food poisoning in your home town isn't so bad....what makes food poisoning bad is when you're in a foreign country, on your own, thousands of miles away from your own bed!

Hope you felt better after this video bro.

AS AN AFRICAN I DEEPLY FEEL SORRY FOR ANY OF YOU WHO HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE, I'D RECOMMEND NEVER EATING STREET FOOD IF NOT PROPERLY OR HYGIENICALLY HANDLED AND ALWAYS DRINK SALT WATER WHENEVER YOU TRY NEW DISHES (STREET FOOD) AT LEAST 30 MINUTES AFTER CONSUMPTION (JUST IN CASE) GOOD LUCK

In this case. dont drink water directly, mix water with 1 (spon) sugar and a little bit of salt. drink, most slow if you can, or buy some packets of hidratation salt. in question of hours you stay better. for the fever, dipirone. 6/6hrs... thats its.

This happened to me too. Scariest thing is there were no warning signs. I felt fine and thought I just had to go to the bathroom, then it exploded out of both ends and kept exploding out of both ends for hours and hours. I swear the worst part was not even being able to drink. Even just a small sip of water would come right back up. My mouth was so dry it felt like it was full of sand. It seriously scarred me for life, it's been in the back of my mind constantly ever since it happened.

Omg this is too real. I got food poisoning back when I was in college, woke up that morning and felt completely fine. Everything changed when I made my way to the bathroom for my morning poo. I instantly dropped to my knees in front of the toilet and projectile vomited. It took a full day before I started feeling somewhat better, but best believe that toilet and I were best friends that day.

Food poisoning is worse than the flu, covid (both times i had it), worse than a torrential hangover - i cannot relate ANYTHING to the food poisoning i got at 15 from sushi from the mall. I have drank myself to unhealthy lengths, abused cough medicine, abused many drugs in my life and dealt with vomiting from it, ODed and thrown up the excess - no. Food poisoning beats it all. Over 15 yesrs later, and still nothing has compared to the way food poisoning affected me.

I had food poisoning from eggs, first 12 hours was just nausea that progressively got worse and worse. Then at the 12 hour mark, I finally threw up, but just a little. I felt really sick, and just laid down for another 3 hours. Then, my body decided to purge everything I had ever eaten in my entire life apparently. I filled up a big mixing bowl of eggs, bread, and stomach acid.

I learned a lesson that day though. If you crack open eggs and smell something weird suddenly, throw it away. If you eat an egg and it tastes a little sour/bitter, throw it away. Don’t continue to eat those eggs.

Also learned that Zofran…is absolutely fantastic. It’s a life saver.

Yup. Had it once in my 40 years twenty years ago and remember it like it was yesterday. Ate chinese fried rice and chicken that had been out in a vet clinic for several hours.

Ugh (shudder) 😵‍💫😵🤢🤮

My dad died for a minute due to food poisoning when he was about 10 years old give or take a year. The skating rink was serving hot dogs and I guess some of the products they would use to clean the grill mixed in with some of the hotdogs. He says it was the worst he’s ever felt and still remembers it to this day. He’s in his 50’s now.

"Drink fruit drinks, jelly, honey, gummy candies. Learned from a person talking about being 'sea sick'; it doesn't stop the vomit, but it taste better throwing up than stomach acid.".
