the green man from pittsburgh is one that was also proven. he was a older man who was horribly disfigured from a power line accident when he was little. he was too scared to go out in public in the day so he’d walk at night and apparently it scared the shit out of locals, but when someone actually had the balls to walk up to him he was apparently one of the sweetest people they’ve ever spoke to

I am from Mexico. In here there is a really common rumor that if you see a militar wearing sneakers you should run. There has been numerous cases of narcs impersonating as military with full equipment. Specially in states such as “Estado de México”.

The candy man one is more fucked up because when they were investigating trying to find the killer. So many people had been breaking into other people’s apartments that multiple people had her belongings. So people were stepping over this poor lady’s dead body to steal her stuff

The second was pretty disturbing, just imagine enjoying life and taking a nap when you wake up with a corpse under you. Crazy stuff.

I remember I was a little small child, my cousin showed me the movie about CandyMan...I wouldn't go in any place with mirrors alone anymore until 3 weeks passed...

The Le Loyon one is sad ngl. Fun fact about him though: in multiple eye witness accounts, he was seen picking flowers, so if you seen any fanart of him holding specifically daisies, it’s because of that. I really hope whoever it was is ok now. I ended up reading his note (it’s accessible to the public) and he seemed like a very well adjusted man, just a little odd. I still don’t know the reasons for why he dressed up that way, but he said the walks were therapeutic.

what is crazy about the last one is that, when he turned himself in to the police, they didnt belive he was the real murderer, like he needed to explain exactly how the murders were made it

"To know what it felt like to kill" is such a chilling reason but is also kind of understandable. I feel like everyones wondered that at least once in their life but only a few go to the extreme lengths of trying it out. Absolutely chilling that it could be anyone who gives into that temptation.

I know that the police impersonator thing is true. A few years ago there was some creep riding around my neighborhood with a fake badge and cop car trying to lure women into his car to assault them. Unfortunately I think he may have managed to get a couple victims but he was thankfully caught fairly soon after.

I want to add my own urban legend here, where I used to live there is an urban legend about a lake monster that lives near a dam, this creature is known to eat small creatures that venture too close to the water's edge, most people think that the monster is nothing more than a tall tale until. Until one day during a routine checkup of the dam, they discover a giant catfish living at the base of thr dam

as someone who used to live in Florida, i can confirm alligators are everywhere. I had one scary encounter where I was late to school, it was raining and near my school there’s a ditch or something, where water would allocate so much inside of there, and many alligators would live there. When i was walking and almost at my school an alligator was standing right near the sidewalk that i was on. I was so fucking scared, i actually screamed and i almost pooped myself.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the gas mask guy was a WW3 or apocalypse prepper doing jogs in a gas mask for exercise in his gear to be used to it for the end of the world.

An urban legend at my old school that turned out to be true was that there was a vicious stray cat under the school hall.
There actually WAS a stray cat under the school hall, and the school had to call animal control to get it extacted. It had snuck in through a loose wooden beam and couldnt get out.

The cat was pregnant and had a litter of kits. The cat and her kits were adopted by a local family and shes been happy since.

oh god when you talk about the 'alice killings' legend brings back so many childhood memories of me binge listening to a vocaloid "alice of human sacrifice", which is basically about the same legend told in song..up until this point in my life I never knew that there was an actual case similar to the legend until now and it's quite haunting to be thinking about.

Tony Todd is goated. Not only did he play Candyman, he’s played Venom in Spiderman 2 and did the voice for Zoom in CW Flash
