Poor Ray. We take so many things for granted. This man was disfigured and lived a secluded childhood And adolescence. Still was a kind soul.

Joel during the story readings : calm and slumbery

Thank you so much for featuring Raymond Robinson. Disfigurements, mental disabilites, and physical diaabilites do not define a person's character. Ray was well loved and needs to be remembered as the gentle soul he was. ❤

So glad you shared the Cropsey story - I'm originally from Staten Island, and I used to be a case-worker for individuals with disabilities who actually lived at the Willowbrook State School before it was shut down. Last I checked, about 150 of them are still alive. My training took place in one of the old Willowbrook buildings that still has bars on the windows. That place was a nightmare - some of my former clients have hepatitis B because they were injected with it by the doctors there, without their consent, for scientific research. The College of Staten Island took over most of the grounds since. There are really no abandoned buildings left, but the place still gives me the creeps.

Candyman is one of my favorite horror movies. Listening to the story about Ruthy made me picture the scene of Helen going through the cabinet at Capreeine Green. Then the next day pulling off her bathroom cabinet in her apartment. Saying "See there's no wall there." And she lightly pounds on the other bathroom cabinet that is right behind hers.

I grew up hearing about urban legends. The man with a hook for a hand and bloody Mary always creeped me out the most. When I was a kid I repeated her name while facing the bathroom mirror in the dark with the door closed and I swear she appeared in the mirror. Did I imagine it? I like to think so, but who knows?

Lmao the first story was featured on the show "A Thousand Ways to Die." For anyone who hasn't seen it, it is a great show.

I love researching and listening to urban legends. The Killer in The Backseat, The Vanishing Hitchhiker, and The Babysitter and The Man Upstairs are a few of my favorite ones.

Rather have a toilet rat, rather than a toilet snake any day of the week.

Omg, the story of Ray Robinson is so sad, I cried over the treatment he suffered from people who mistreated him just because of how he looks. Rest pin peace kind sir.

Ray Robinson’s story is fascinating to me. I’ve read about him before. It really shows how something so unfortunate can become helpful for so many people. In this case, a lot of people probably learned not to judge someone based on their looks or disabilities. I’d definitely be scared to death if I saw him while driving down the street at night and I didn’t know about him though

When I was a kid there was this abandoned road behind my neighborhood and we thought there was a ghost dressed in white so we spent our childhood being terrified of the "white man" hahahaha
