We really just have one goal - to make your food life better. Ok that, and be entertained at the same time. And have you learn a few things along the way. So let’s make it 3 goals then.

If you only want the steps to make something, like those vids shot from above with no people, no conversation no nuthin - then we are absolutely not for you. But if you wanna a little fun while you learn, then this is the place.

Cooking doesn’t have to be hard, it just has to be delicious.

THANK YOU ❗️

I'll have to try something like this. I was served a soft boiled egg almost everyday before school. My mother definitely didn't go through all of that, but I was a happy camper. My buttered toast was in triangles. I was between the ages of 6-10. Every day my mother did this for me made me feel special.
I too am a collector. Thanks for your video.

I've only just found your channel, so I'm way late to the party, but I love the content.
If I might be so bold, a few hints from the old country:
If you keep your eggs in the fridge and forget to get them out ahead of time, place them in a pan of cold water and then bring it to the boil. About 4 minutes after it starts boiling and they're done (depends a bit on the size of the egg) - avoids any cracking.
My grandma's tip - slice the top off with a sharp knife (fewer shell shards to deal with) and drop a little knob of butter onto the now exposed yolk. Best with twice-toasted bread (first time to lightly toast, let it cool for a minute, then toast again for a couple more. Dries it out nicely for reaaaally crunchy toast. Then butter, cut into strips (some of us call them 'soldiers' in the UK) and dip away to your heart's content. Once you're all dipped out, I find it easier to dig the remnants out with a teaspoon. Oh, and one egg's never enough!
Thanks Sam, you have a new subscriber, but I'm going to need a good 6 months to catch up on your immense back catalogue! 24/7!

All the other soft boiled eggs videos I've watched the cooks go way too fast. Thank you for taking your time.

My grandmother would make those for my brother and I all the time. He has passed on but this video brings back that great memory.

forget those silly little single egg cups Sam. Make a few eggs and take the top off like that but scoop them out with a small spoon, into a bowl that has a dab of butter in it or that seasoned stuff that Sam makes. Now you can eat large with a spoon in one hand and a slice of that buttered bread in the other.
I used to get this for breakfast in NYC early in the morning. Went to broadcast school there, announcer training studios and at the ground floor of the building was a diner. I'd get into the city early and have breakfast and almost always got a couple soft boiled eggs in a bowl, dab of butter and a glass of chocolate milk!

I love that you call the toast "dipping toast, " because my oldest daughter (9 years old) calls fried eggs, "dipping eggs." Like my middle daughter (5 years old) calls cream cheese "bagel butter."

Isn’t it simpler to just put eggs in cold water, bring to boil, then switch off heat and keep the eggs in the water for a few mins depending on how soft/hard you want the eggs? 40+ years of eggs, none cracked yet.

The love and passion you have for cooking comes through on this video very well.

Just a man, his egg (w/pants) and buttery garlic toast

Steam the egg for 6 minutes. Soft boiled perfectly each and every single time.

Thanks for the tip about tempering-no cracks first time out! Let the egg cook an additional minute since I was trying a ramen dish…worked out great. Appreciate you!

OMG, we got to see inside the Wok drawer. You’ve heard the expression “A peek inside the Kimona?” This is a total Wizard of Oz, look behind the curtain moment.

Heaven and hell. Don't put garlic into your egg! My egg is free of garlic.

FYI, cooking time is going to depend on altitude. Here at 800 ft the cooking time is 8:15 to get the same result. Damn fine vid, Sam!

I steam my eggs on the stove. That way you don't have to worry about shocking the boiling water and the steam cooks the eggs just fine without any worry about the egg cracking. This also makes it easier to cook several eggs at once without having to worry about lowering the water temperature. Give it a shot. You may have to play with the time a bit since steam is more efficient at heat transfer than boiling water. (That's why most people think the steam from boiling water is hotter than the boiling water. ) it's not. Just more efficient at heat transfer. Happy eating.

This looks fantastic and is on a much higher level than my go to but my way is a lot easier, quicker and with minimal cleanup. This will take some experimentation depending on your bowl and microwave but once you have it down it won't change. Start a piece of toast. Then take a small bowl and fill it about 1/3 full with hot water. Crack two eggs and place into the hot water. Nuke in your microwave, for me 1:35 at 70% power. Time this so that the toast finishes before the 1:35 is up. Butter and cut the toast into small pieces. When the microwave finishes, carefully drain the water from the bowl, add salt and pepper, then chop up the cooked eggs. Add the toast and enjoy, the total time for this is the time it takes to toast a piece of bread.
