you can visit Volterra (Tuscany) for Alabaster manufactured goods, there are lot of shops and almost everyone have alabaster chess sets.

Sweet board. I got lucky thrift shopping at my local antique stores and found a marble board that weighs probably 40 lbs or more and found these demons vs barbarians ceramic pieces a few weeks later. Altogether about $50 for a completely one of a kind legendary set and i cant even remember the last time i had someone to play with at this point. Stupid pandemic. Not that i was very good anyways, but still fun to play.
