As an adult picky eater who hates cooking and lives alone, I sometimes dream of having a food blogger mom living with me and cooking my meals 😂

Love this! If I encourage my son to make a picture or letters or a pattern with his veggies, he’ll eat them every time! ❤️

I love Winny and I watch her when I have zero inspiration for cooking. I started cutting veggies and fruits into shapes like she does and my toddler loves it.

Oh and if you have never tried her chicken adobo recipe or her other Indonesian dishes she shares—run, don’t walk!

Congratulations on getting into Carbone-- especially since it books 30 days out, right at 9:00 am! (You can tell that I've tried to get a spot.)

I wish i knew more in-depth information about “protein quality”, im worried plant protein from a plant-based diet wouldn’t be as easily absorbed by my body than animal protein.

I'm quite sure tryptophan is no longer recognized as "sleep supporting". Read it in a book on sleep science. It was originally thought to help sleep based on one study on cats (that were deprived of tryptophan and then had troubles sleeping), but was later debunked, as these results were not replicable, and it was then found that the reason in cats was most likely that not having tryptophan enough caused them problems in temperature regulation...

I was today years old when I learned that’s how you’re supposed to pronounce minestrone soup

The term “feeding” makes me uncomfortable bc it makes me think of fetish-feeders

As someone who grew up (as I’m sure most 20-30somethings did) being told not to play with their food, it’s weird hearing an expert say “yes, play with your food” 😆

thank you for pointing out that food videos would totally be cool if there's no moral baggage attached, and they just talked about likes, dislikes, etc! i think it would help foster a safer and more positive environment 🥺❤️ everyone has a different journey and relationship to food!

I had a "no eggs" phase as a kid, so my mom created a new name for omelettes (apparently she translates omelette to another language I didn't speak) and my grandpa created a new name for scrambled eggs (hodge podge) and that got me eating eggs again! lol

Don’t shy away from dips is KEY with kids!! I let my kids have all the butter on their veg, ketchup on their chicken, and yes RANCH in their veggies! It gets them to eat the veggies and learn to love them!

As for kids' protein needs being quite low - I wonder if that plays into why so many picky kids dislike meat and will often go out of their way not to eat it, only (in some cases) to find they like meat a lot more as an adult. Far as I can tell it stands to reason that much lower protein needs in a kid as opposed to an adult would lead picky children to skew more towards not liking meat, while picky adults will be more likely to eat meat and to mostly go for consistent and predictable meals and snacks instead.

I really enjoyed hearing your advice on kids and nutrition along with how to reduce anxiety with picky eaters.
I don’t have any kids, but my husband and I are planning for next year.

When my kids were little and my oldest would eat almost nothing that wasn’t beige, I snuck veggies and protein and fiber into Mac and cheese with a purée of peeled zucchini, steamed cauliflower, and canned white beans. They never knew the difference. 😁

Yaaay! I'm so happy that you reviewed her videos! She is definitely my absolute favorite to watch.. So wish I could have her talent with food. I was so worried that you would say something about her but I'm happy to know that I'm getting the hang of the "hungry crushing combo" from the contents I'm trying to follow and recreate at home ❤️❤️❤️ love you both!

I really like the fact that you -in the "sum up" of her video- not mentioned her caloric intake in numbers and just said that she basically had enough on the day shown. I'm trying to heal my realtionship with food, and not focusing on cals is very hard for me. But your video made me feel sort of "safe" in that point (and I liked it in general as well :)) Thank you Abbey (and your team!).
