Reason why Singapore banned gum: Choking hazard and people kept on burning gum and it took forever to scrape it off.

Edit 2: also because ppl kept sticking it on MRT (maximum/metro railway train) doors and it couldn't open, thus causing it to jam and ppl couldn't go to their desired areas (my bad)

Singapore didn’t exactly ban gum, we’ve banned the buying and selling of gum. People are allowed to bring it in from other countries, and chew it freely, as long as you dispose of it properly, then there is no issue. Gum was banned in an effort to make a clean country, as when gum wasn’t banned, it was everywhere and expensive to get rid of.
