Fix a Frigidaire dishwasher spray arm

This is a common problem that we have found with dishwashers. These apartment grade (basic) dishwashers typically have exposed elements and a "spray arm" that acts as a water agitator to spin and clean your dishes from the middle.

When someone pulls out the drawer prior to the spray arm descending it can break the spray arm loose. This is fine except for the fact that it will rest against the exposed heating element and your next cycle... will be your last...

Melted plastic and burning smell will let you know it is time to find a replacement.

I have a dishwasher in this model. I can’t figure out how to disassemble it to clean. It has gotten really gross. I thought I could life the flat, round filter to clean around it but now Incant snap it back in place. Could you post a video on how to do this?

This has happened to me THREE TIMES!! Had the original dishwasher 4 years when the original arm fell off sideways during the wash cycle, fell onto the heating element and melted. Order the part which costs $50 including shipping. Put it together and the same thing happened!! I was sure I attached the part wrong, ordered another, just got it today, indtalled it, ran a test wash, and it happened again!!!.
