Repairing a Melted Dishwasher Spinner Arm (Frigidaire Part #5304517203)

Our Frigidaire dishwasher's lower spinner arm melted on the bottom heating coil, and this little $25 part has been on backorder for nearly a month now. We decided to get crafty and figure out how to repair the damaged spinner arm (part number 5304517203) and patch up the melted section so it's functional until the new part arrives. Alas, it worked! Here's how we did it.

This video is great. I found that my heating element bent itself out of shape and then melted not only the replacement sprayer but melted a hole in the tub. I’m done with Frigidaire.

We’ve had problems with a clogged sink and backed up into dishwasher. I took bottom piece apart to clean and I guess I didn’t get the arm put back on securely. It melted like this. 😢. Part is easy to replace but I worry about the heating element being messed up.

Any ideas on why it melted in the first place? We had the same thing happen including to the replacement on its very first wash! I did my best to ensure it was in stable place, but it happened again. Any ideas on prevention?

Same happened in my apartment they replaced it. But it fell off again. I’m just done using the washer atp lol

Having the same issue but mine is unrepairable so I have to get Centerpoint Plus in the fix it.

Before you fixed it was it melting plastic or worping plastic cups.
