My Top 65 entries from Belgium in Eurovision (1956-2022)

Here's my Top 65 of the Belgian entries in Eurovision so far.
Belgium at first was really, really bad at Eurovision. Their songs were very dull. Since the mid-70s though they've been alright. They've had a couple of golden eras in terms of song quality, even if they've never really had consistent success, and their songs this century overall have been pretty good.

We really misalign on some of Belgium's entries, do we? I adore Macedomienne for its elegance and poetry, and that made it rise to the top for me. That said, nice to see you enjoy Quand tu Reviendras and Judy et cie, and am happily surprised that Rendez-vous is your second favorite entry from the country!

Yay, happy to see my country right here! I agree, we did have some TERRIBLE entries, but we also did have a fairly amount of great ones. It's either good or bad it seems like. And I also think we have been underrated sometimes, especially in the 2000's. I'm happy we did get good results in the 10's tho. One that I think is underrated by fans is 1978, we really came closets victory there. Kinda shocked to see Tom Dice so low tho, here in Belgium he s basically declared holy lmao

Some comments from my point of view on the Belgian entries:
I guess I would rate some entries higher, as I like most of the songs, but Belgium sent a lot of decent, not really outstanding songs. But I love to hear the french and dutch language in the older songs.
57: Oh no, I really like Barbara and her soft song. But 93 was strong
55: Actually like 'Would you' too
49: I absolutely adore that one. I found it a bit pale to begin with, but the soothing melody and vocals and the playful instrumentation are great.

45: I really like 'Fleur de Liberte' - great instrumentation and lovely melody
41: I really like the 1995 entry, even though I can understand why other peole just think it's decent
39: What a catchy and vibrant song, I really like it
37: I actually don't mind seeing 'J'aime la vie' suprisingly low, cause I never really liked it.
36: I really like 'Laat me nu gaan' though and didn't expect it to finish in the middle of your top. Lovely
34: I was never so sure about this one - until I give it a full listen and full attention - emotional song, lovely voice, interesting structure
33: I absolutely love 'Gelukkig zijn', it's vibrant, happy, it just makes me smile
32: This is so charming - I really like it!
27: This is stunning - I found it a bit dull at first, but I adore the meldoy, his voice and the dark lyrics
26: This is really charming, too, great entry - and a lovely, soft melody
25: Really catchy refrain - which always gets stuck in my head
24: Really grew on me, I didn't find it interesting in the beginning, but it's quite good
21: I really it - lovely voice, good lyrics and energetic song
20: Why didn't that qualify. Yes, the live wasn't perfect, but it's a great song and Sennek is a great singer!
18: Such a charming entry - maybe her live performance was a bit pale, but I really enjoy it nonetheless
17: A charming, little entry, which I quite like, too
15: What a classy and moody song
14: It's so sassy, so disco - I absolutely love it
12: Great, energetic song and singing
10: So soothing and beautiful - great that you put it that high
9: This maybe my favorite: It's quite hypnotizing, ehteral, lovely, mysterious, gentle - amazing song and atmosphere
8: Amazing song and singer - great lyrics and really touching
7: A carefree and lovely song - I would put it a bit lower if I did a top of Belgium - but I really like it
5: This flows so beautifully - nice song and instrumentation!
3: I don't love it as much as a lot of fans - but it's great, modern and I really appreciate it

10: 2004: such a banger with a great yet simple performance. Such a catchy song as well. 8.5/10.
9: 2013: such a banger with a kinda great performance. 9/10.
8: 1991: such a great song with such a charismatic yet simple performance. 9/10.
7: 2003: really catchy and intriguing as you can interpret it however you like. 9/10.
6: 2006: such a banger with a great performance. 9/10.
5: 2011: such a banger that is so unique and interesting and so well-performed and expertly done in every way. A captivating A Capella song. 9.5/10.
4: 2022: this song is just so intriguing and honestly beautiful. Such a heartbreaking song. The staging is actually pretty good considering that a lot of their entries are dark ballads that are incredibly hard to stage perfectly. His vocals were also pretty good. Love the beat drop and both parts are really beautiful. 9.5/10.
3: 2016: such a groovy song with a perfect performance. Laura has so much charisma, she sells a perfect masterpiece. 10/10.
2: 1986: such a great winner with an amazing performance. 10/10.
1: 2015: literally such a captivating 3 minutes. A perfect song in every way. The performance gives me chills. 10/10.
Honourable mentions: 1969, 2019, 1967, 1990, 1995, 1973, 1966, 1982, 2020, 1992, 1976, 1998, 1996, 2009 and 2021.
Not gonna lie Belgium are pretty good in Eurovision to me. A, though they have a few songs that are not to my taste I like a majority of their output. They are on so f the most unique countries in modern Eurovision and I love that you never know what you will get from them. They have really shown what they are great at, being unique and groundbreaking especially recently. I really like them for that reason. Hope they seen more great songs in the future.

Belgium is good! Third favorite of the original 7. The 2000’s did not treat them nicely… but the 90’s did! My favorite entry from is 1996, followed by 1999. My least favorite entry is 2008.
