This is actually good for me since I have 32GB of 3200mhz RAM so I'd probably be fine with 5800x3D once it's prices lowers after zen 4 launch

Really looking forward to ZEN 4 X3D, I mainly play games in a CPU-limited scenario like Arma 3.

Ram tuning still helps the 5800x3d gained 30 fps in 0.1 lows for a way smoother experience in battle royal games going with 4000 cl16

I will never get tired of playing a video at 0.25 speed to make Steve and Tim sound like two completely drunk guys trying to sound smart

This actually heavily depends on the game (or program) that's running. Some games don't benefit from more cache because they're not well optimized, some do.

You guys need to benchmark RAM memory bandwidth.
Take a WRX80 platform and benchmark dual channel vs quad channel vs octa channel memory speeds. For DDR4 that should be about 50GB/s vs 100GB/s vs 200GB/s.

So I'm guessing DDR5 won't be needed much for a few more years

16 gb acceptable? Maybe for an existing system or budget build, but for a new system i'd always go 32.
Anno1800 - 18-22 gb usage
BF2042 - also over 16

New games dont only increase in disc space

The speed part ist true tho. You showed that very good in your vids.

16GB would be enough? You clearly haven't seen OS11 11GB of usage 😅 I am giving it a concern of my 32 Gigs and would love redoing RAM on 64 or even 128 for work based loads.

Depending on the cpu you have and games you play ram tuning can be pretty much pointless as far as performance gains go. I appreciate what buildzoid does but in all reality ram tuning is fairly niche and doesn’t really do much. It’s fun to play around with when you get bored but it’s a rabbit hole that never ends. Ram tuning only matters if ram is the limiting factor in a build. The only game I’ve seen decent gains in was warzone, even then it was less than 10 frames and it crashed. Synthetic benchmarks mean nothing unless you overclock competitively. Real world gains are the true benchmark. Overclocking as a whole is pretty much dead for the average jo. CPU’s, gpu’s, ram and motherboards all coming “overclocked” out of the box. Performance definitely isn’t an issue anymore.

No way I agree with 16gb of RAM anymore unless you jus strictly game. I'll have a VRChat Project open in Unity and Blender, 25 chrome tabs, VRChat itself or another full game, and I may be streaming or recording. And no, 10GB is not enough VRAM either. VR fills 10GB of VRAM on my 3080 FE instantly in VRChat, not to mention VR Sim Racing or triple screen sim racing. 10gb lmao. 54 here I started with a TRS-80 and an apple ii plus and have built damn near every thing ive owned since the mid 90s.
RAM is super cheap right now, so why stay at 16?

GUYS. test the 12600K with 4000Mhz upwards bdie RAM. I'm begging you.🫠🫠
