I really enjoyed the book but I like your honesty - Sometimes when watching other book-tube videos I get the feeling others say they'll love something even if they only thought it was ok. I also like that you can see some merits instead of just slamming it.

I am so glad someone else had the same issues with this book that I had! Even though I went into this book with pretty high expectations, I really struggled to get past the first 100 or so pages. I felt this book was rushed and a lot of information was glossed over. Ugh it was so frustrating!!! And I agree that the last part of the book was it's only saving grace for me. I am still undecided as to whether I will continue with the series. Thanks for the awesome video :D

I'm definitely going to be reading this one - I read the preview on my Kindle app and was hooked. However, I'm trying to get through the Throne of Glass series first. I'm still on the first book and it's proving to be ... just... very hard to get through two paragraphs without picking up my phone and checking every social media app possible.

I have the first two books I heard that second book is 10x better than the first book is the trilogy worth the read?

I'd say this is actually a retelling of the myth of Eros and Psyche more than Beauty and the Beast, with a bit of Tam Lin and, of course, Hades and Persephone sprinkled in there. The two stories are just about identical. I do understand the automatic assumption though, considering the original BATB was loosely based off Eros and Psyche.

Perfect review. I felt exactly the same after reading the book. I really liked the ending after trudging through the beginning of the book. I think I gave it 3 stars.

I want to check this out, but I know my expectations will be SUPER high because of the ToG series. Do you think that kind of affected your view point on ACTOAR? Also, I was thinking how ToG is my least favorite in the series right now. I didn't love it, but I read Crown of Midnight and I LOVED it and I'm reading Heir of Fire and love it too. So maybe ACOTAR will be the same in that it picks up for you in the 2nd book!

I put this down at the beginning of May when I was about 60% of the way through out of boredom. I don't know when I'll finish it, but you saying that it gets better gives me hope. maybe in the next few weeks.

Really interesting review! I have yet to read a SJM book, , but my friend just finished Throne of Glass and she said some similar things about inconsistent characters (being TOLD a character is smart/has strong survival instincts/etc, but the character in question not SHOWING those traits at all, but sometimes quite the opposite). Did you find that to be present in Throne of Glass as well? 

On another note OH MY GOD I LOVE YOUR LIPSTICK! I immediately looked for the shade in the description, but it wasn't there. Would you mind sharing or did you leave it out on purpose?

i agree with your opinion about the main character feyre, she was just annoying most of the time.. countless times where i had to stop reading the book cause i just can't stand her stupid decisions.. also her extremely rude personality was just.. ugh..

Lovely review! I was wondering if you Have ever read any of Juliet Marilliers books? If you enjoy fae/fantasy stories she's one of my favorites. The Sevenwaters Trilogy in particular is a fun, faerie retelling!
