One way to make sure your luggage goes the distance with you is knowing which airlines are least likely to lose or damage your precious cargo.

Take it from a new report by LuggageHero, a budget-friendly luggage storage company.

They looked at 12 U.S. airlines to see which are most and least likely to lose your bag based on six years of data from the Department of Transportation, according to Travel + Leisure.

Think from 2012 through April of 2018.

Delta, Spirit Airlines and JetBlue breezed past the competition as the best carriers to fly with if you want to make sure your bag doesn’t get lost.

The three airlines with the most complaints?

Envoy Air, ExpressJet Airlines and SkyWest Airlines.

LuggageHero says they’ve logged double the complaints of the top performers since 2012.

Some other findings from the report.

The worst months for mishandled baggage between 2012 and 2018 were January and December.

The company also expects 568,000 mishandled baggage reports to be filed in the summer of 2018 alone.

The good news?

Complaints have gone down 27% since 2012.

Travel + Leisure says you can take a few steps to make sure your bag doesn’t get lost, like booking direct flights instead of connecting flights, dressing up your bag with ribbons or tags, taking tags off from earlier trips, and downloading an airline’s bag tracking app.

That way you won’t get sick of waiting for your bag at the carousel.

You don’t want to catch a terminal illness.
