The DJI Mavic 2 drones have swappable cameras. The Pro camera can be swapped with the Zoom camera with no firmware updates (as of this publishing). This guide shows the steps needed as well as the tools you would need to do the job. The entire swap takes about 5 minutes and can be done in the field fairly easily...in my opinion.

My technician said that replacing a kind of video chip was a must in order to make it work... is that true? They install a M2P camera on a Mavic 2 Zoom

I've heard that you need to do a software gimbal calibration after swapping the cameras. I have a Mavic 2 zoom that camera is tilted about 45 degrees after swapping the camera units. I've seen it happen on sparks and Mavic airs too after a camera replacement. There is a script you can run to fix the spark and Mavic air tilt issues. Do you know how to do it for the Mavic 2 drones?

Thanks for the video. Followed your advice and bought my new camera from the same dealer. Just installed it and I can finally move my camera again. Only problem is the picture quality is definitely not as good. Do you know if these cameras are the same? And if so, is there a setting I’m supposed to change?

Your video is very good. My doubt is. If you change take the camera the Mavic 2 Zoom and put the camera of the Mavic 2 pro or otherwise ... The modes of flights will work normally in the Dji app? When you connect will you recognize whether it's Mavic zoom or pro? Thank you.

There needs to be a mounting device which you can slide an unlocking arm or shim releasing the camera and cable assembly.
This way you can have the best of both worlds.
I bet someone is working on that right now.
It would then having to find the cameras.

So I swapped my Mavic 2 Zoom to a Pro on my own today. Now I am getting the Gimbal is too heavy error and it thinks the cover is still on. Is there something I can do to override this error. Even in flight the camera is very sporatic and is not smooth, the gimbal is trying to adjust itself?

Can you use the DJI mavic pro 2 gimbal and camera as a stand-alone camera to your phone or does it need the circuit board too? I want to do my own 3d printed setup with the nice hasselblad camera if it’s not too costly.

Note the connector is not designed for more than 30 plug and unplugging actions. Do this swap as few times as possible.
