The traditional human tower or “castell” event resumed, Sunday, October 24, for the first time without crowd limits in Catalonia, Spain since the start of the pandemic.

The “castells” are one of the Catalonia regions oldest and strongest traditions.

The tradition began in the 18th century and takes place during festivals where teams compete to build the tallest and most complicated towers.

There were no limits on numbers in the square, although the castellers were ordered to wear face masks during the performance. (AP)
