Probiotics are foods or supplements that contain live microorganisms intended to maintain or improve the "good" bacteria (normal microflora) in the body. Prebiotics are foods (typically high-fiber foods) that act as food for human microflora.Is it better to take prebiotics or probiotics?
Prebiotics are also generally more robust than probiotic supplements. Many probiotics die off when they come in contact with stomach acid or heat. Prebiotics feed the good bacteria already living in your gut without getting destroyed during digestion.

I know I heard the unprocessed instead of processed but we all make a slip. But I understood what he meant. Dr Hansen is an amazing man and very busy. And we love him. And he's super intelligent.

I used live probiotics to put my friends diverticulitis in remission. It took approx 6 weeks to start. First noticing changes in the amount gas passed and the duration of trips to the bathroom. Secondly, less pain was noticed after 10 weeks. By 14 weeks, he was at last feeling well. It was starting to go into remission. By 16 weeks he was convinced and a believer of probiotics. He was well for 9 yrs. He stopped taking the Live probiotic. After 4 weeks he ended up in emergency and admitted in the hospital. He almost died. I started using the probiotics for irritible bowl.
It put it in remission. That was 13 years ago. Always eat Activia plain yogurt for brekky now. Enjoy your videos as always stay safe .

I appreciate how the doctor gives a lot of importance on the "natural approach" of eating healthy, and at the same time, acknowledges newer approaches such as pre/probiotic.

I am going to get some natural probiotics in the store like: gouda cheese; kimchi; kombucha; Kefir, traditional buttermilk, gherkins; Miso; Tempeh; Natto to help my GI gut and to promote a healthy brain . I have a cousin who is hooked on processed foods from McDonalds, jack in the box, cokes and today he has type 2 diabetes; hyperlipidemia; high glucose; obesity, insulin resistance and he hates to exercise because his diet has reprogrammed his brain to crave a unhealthy life style. My grandmother would say: reprogram the brain by the renewing of your mind and you will stop your addictive behaviors. Read your bible everyday."

The best place to start is the soil of the garden, where all the nourishment comes from. I will be making some definitely good changes now. More of this type of videos would be incredible.

I tried taking probiotics (Bio-Kult Advanced Multi-Strain Formulation) and noticed that every time I started taking them I started getting seriously depressed. And when I stopped taking them, my mood went back to normal. I tried taking probiotics 3 times before I quit outright.

I am glad that I take Probiatics and I have noticed that ever since I started taking them that my intestines are able to evacuate all the nasty stuff inside them. 😁
I used to sufferer from constipation for years and now I am a happy camper. 😊

Thanks for the great video and advice. I do take probiotics, but I don’t eat healthy all the time and then have to take more. It makes sense to feed the probiotics with good prebiotics so they don’t die off and then you have to take more to feel better

Dr. Hansen's great! Just wish he talked a little slower- I have to keep pausing and backing up. And some things are unclear. Like he seems like he's saying you only need to take the probiotics for one to two DAYS, as long as your feeding with fiber/prebiotics. But I've never heard this before. I've always thought you're supposed to take them everyday- for so many months... but I never knew/heard for how long. How do you ask him a question? Where do you go to get your questions answered?

Oooh I’m still confused - do I take ore and pro biopics together and eat as much natural food as possible?
If you cook unprocessed food is that still ok?
Do you mean raw food when you say unprocessed.
I’m sorry the video was a bit too quick for me - plus the fact I’m an old bid and not exactly quick on the uptake 😂😂😂
