The thing about the attitude era is every match on the card had a story as to why it was happening so even the lowest match on the card had a reason to keep you invested. Now the titles have stories, sometimes, but most of the card doesnt. Something as simple as 3 or 4 guys trying to position themselves for a title shot trying to prove themselves worthy goes a long way. It's why in the attitude era, everyone on the card was over with the crowd.

i remember the attitude era stories segment days, I remember when Debra was known for her cookies, she would pass them out and hand them out and superstars would say they were delicious and so good, but as soon as she left, they would spit them out or throw up😂🤢

The attitude era everyone felt important everyone was on level playing field. Thats where WWE is getting back to now. All the main event guys are battling it out

The storylines, no matter how bizarre they could be, were much more entertaining than the storylines today.

"The stories are better now than they are in the attitude" No they aren't.

“The stories are better now than in the Attitude Era”. While the major majority would trade what we have had for the last 15 years for that without a doubt

I think a lot of that was also cause WWE was competing with WCW and battling over Monday night so they were doing whatever they could think up to keep eyes from switching channels. Now WWE has no big competition and more need to keep the brand alive and having people watch and come to shows and a good way to do that is longer episodic storylines

A few years ago we were approaching that level, I remember The Miz vs Damian Priest (?) match at Backlash where Zombies surrounded the ring and eventually ate(?) The Miz. Alexa Bliss popping out of a giant box during The Fiend vs Randy Orton at Mania was another one that stands out.

Could be age, but when I watch the current program, I can't help but think of that South Park episode. 😅
Also, the absurdness provided a comedic relief. Sure, you have Ron Killings and Sami Zayn doing their schtick, but as funny as they are, I feel their are (or were) relied on too much to change the tone.
