That's a massive overclock on the 2080

Could you do some more realistic setups and without overclocks? like for the average human being an average rick? You know, no special equipment, high voltages, etc. Simple right out of the box builds and benchmarks, lots of people would appreciate it.

My whole problem with this thing is that It doesn't have quite the performance of the 2080 or RTX, yet the suggested retail is nearly the same. AMD has always been good at making budget cards that compete with Nvidia but cheaper but they're pricing themselves out. I mean, when the non RTX Nvidia cards launch at a cheaper price than the Radeon VII, AMD won't have a hope of competing. If AMD was offering this card at say $400-$500 instead, they'd mop the floor with AMD. I like AMD, but I'm not a fanboy. I want to support them but they aren't giving me a solid reason to.

Navi is the AMD's last chance for GPU Sector to get their old popularity... We remember the 7970 times...

1-2 months and AMD is ready. The card is fine but not at its maximum. Gonna buy one proly mid this year.

AMD has justified the RTX price sudly. Those of us who expected a reduction of the RTx have received a kick. Without competition, you can not buy anything

Was the Radeon VII overclocked, or were you just listing the boost frequency?

I'd really like this card to be great. There are obviously some issues with the drivers and such, I hope those are resolved quickly.

RTX 2080 is overclocked. And Radeon 7 is not ready yet. There will be driver updates for Radeon 7 which will improve alot.

Another thing the games are dx11 dx12 or vulcan?

For Amd = 16gbs of HBM2 memory Which is Future proof but it doesn't support RayTracing

Radeon vii = $700
freesync monitor=$250-$400
Total =$950-$1100
For Nividia= 8Gbs of vram Gddr6 also supports RayTracing but only 8 gb

Nividia GeForce RTX 2080
=$700
G-Sync Monitor =$450-$700
Total =$1150-$1400
So, paying Extra $200-$300 for 15-20 FPS is not worth.
For $200-$300 I can buy some extra 16gb of ram or 1TB ssd

It's your choice #TeamBlue or #TeamRed

What is the average % difference of all the numbers?

I am glad I did not wait for Navi and bought 2080 Ti. Yeah, it is expensive as shit with lower memory, but so far 11 GB is enough for uwqhd gaming + it supports ray tracing and DLSS

AMD blew their chance on this card. It had all the potential. However, it's lacking in the 1440p/1080p department vis a vis the 2080. Not only that, the dealbreaker is: they dropped Crossfire support for the Radeon VII. My gosh, even the Vega 64 has xfire support. Heck, even the 2080's support SLI. They isolated this card.
Seems they hoped folks would just buy them before the benchmarks/reviews were out. I really doubt they will sell as expected. In my case, I was about to purchase two Radeon VII's. (Upgrading from two 480's). But it wasn't till 6am PST (Feb 7) I was informed by AMD... no xfire driver support for the Radeon VII. So I went ahead and purchased the evga ($1200) 2080 TI XC Ultra at 7am today. Bummer. I waited all of January and the first week of Feb to find out the true specs of the Radeon VII. No hate. I am for AMD. Been x'firing since 290x stage. No qualms. But this? " forget the reviews! Buy before these cards sell out!" ... uh huh. The Radeon VII won't be sold out. They messed up. Big time.

Today (2/8/2019) at 6:00pm PST:
Just ran the benchmarks for Hitman 2 on HDR, 144hz/HDR (HDR Freesync2 ! Pixio PX277H monitor), on 4k ULTRA SETTINGS: 70FPS AVG. On 1440P ULTRA: 92FPS AVG. 5930K cpu, 16gb (4x4) DDR4, MSI X99S SLI PLUS mobo. And just the one 2080 TI XC Ultra from EVGA. I am blown away.

Bother me the fact that they are at the same price point, but 2080 has sligthy better performance and has RTX cores...Only plus for AMD is 16GB of VRAM

Ginormous overclock on the 2080, 17.5% over the Radeon VII for roughly 5% difference in frames on most games.

The Turin architecture is still more efficient though as its drawing alot less power despite the huge overclock.

The thing is, frames only tell half the story, why does nobody compare rendering quality? It's subjective of course and totally dependant on how trained people's eyes are, but I'm willing to bet overall image quality is better on the Radeon card.

I see zero issue with being a few frames short of the best card available at 1440 resolution (particularly when both are already at over 100fps anyway) on release drivers. That's a win in my book. And with more than double the memory bandwidth, the card will age remarkably well.

I think its awesome that AMD finally has a card that can compete with the 1080ti/ 2080. To bad that the 2080ti is around. In the bigger picture of things AMD is starting to close the gap, and that is good for consumers in the long run. The 16gb of HBM memory that AMD used really made the production cost of the R7 expensive and thus the high price. Hopefully Nvidia production cost is lower because DDR6 is cheaper to make the HBM memory, and they will drop the price of their 2080s to mess with R7 sales. SO you see AMD even being slightly competitive is good for consumers. I think this is great! I cant wait till driver issues get fixed and card runs stable. One thing I know about Nvidia is that they always have an ace up their sleeve but never show it till AMD gets close to messing with one of their cards. Great news for consumers and big thumbs up for AMD.

Was this the press release driver? As no full driver is available yet yeah? You really should have waited for a retail driver (full not beta) to accurately test this against the 2080. Nice graphics though ✔. The music on the other hand Ummm yeah?

So happy I got a used 1080ti FTW3 which is the best on air you could say and with the OC it comes I got better fps than these two cards in 4 games I own from the video... 🤟😉
