Dylan and Lennon acting like arrogant kids.

----------------------

Dylan: There's the mighty Thames. That's what held Hitler back, the mighty Thames. Yes. Winston Churchill said that. Tom, ain't that right?

Tom: Yep.

Dylan: Ain't that right, Tom?

Tom: Definitely. Definitely is right.

Dylan: Tom, I think I'm gonna turn you into Tyrone Power. In a matter of time.

Lennon: Say that again, will you Bob?

Dylan: Tom, I think I'm gonna turn you into Ronald Colman...

Lennon: Much better. Much better.

----------

Dylan: Oh, yeah, I wanna go back home, man. Where I come from we have baseball games. We got baseball games, we got all-night TV. I come from the land of paradise, man.

Lennon: Sounds great.

Dylan: Well, I'm not the one who could really give it the rightful sound, man. Some people could make it sound so great that you wouldn't even have the capacity to speak.

Nothing like a new Dylan album to make John proud.

Dylan is tripping balls and Lenennon knows it. Lennon himself had many documented episodes of acting the fool when not strait.

Blown away that people are so profoundly misreading two stoned sarcastic pranksters’ banter.

John keeps his cool. Obviously Dylan is intoxicated and John humors him knowing that is the intelligent thing to do. You can't win an argument with a drunk.

They could have settled it by whipping out their harmonicas and seeing who could blow the best

They’re both tripping in this video. Neither one is being unkind to the other. They’re just going through it.

Lmao john’s “sounds great” seems like it blew Dylan’s mind

Lennon told Rolling Stone magazine about this video. Both stoned (Dylan wasted), but Lennon was all paranoid cause he thought that Bob would ridicule him for his tour movie.

I’m sure John was thinking “never meet your heroes” 😂😂

People misread this footage SO MUCH! Firstly, Dylan is clearly more drunk than anything- and he's obviously bantering with the driver. Nothing he says is nasty or condescending in intent.
Secondly, Lennon smoked way too much weed and felt super paranoid which was why he was saying very little except the odd sarcastic remark.
Lennon even mentions this in an interview. Anyone who's ever smoked weed knows that feeling lol

I'm a much bigger fan of Lennon than Dylan, but in all fairness Dylan didn't really talk down the driver when he said he would turn him into Tyrone Power and Ronald Colman, he was just saying he was gonna turn the driver into a movie star (probably because they were filming).

"I come from the land of paradise..."
"Sounds great."
then, Bob is lost. Those few seconds are very cruel.

Only John Lennon can simply say “that’s great” and destroy a super stars ego flat

If Dylan believes the Thames saved the UK from Nazi invasion he needs a history lesson.

Even without what John's gone back and said about the video, Bob's very clearly baked.

Love the perfectly timed deadpan looks to the camera by Lennon 🫤

The driver Tom is the road manager/ fixer of The Rolling Stones not just some taxi driver that’s probably why he was playing around with him
