65. Mandukya Upanishad | Chapter 4 Karika 74-78 | Swami Sarvapriyananda

Swami Sarvapriyananda teaches one of the shortest and most profound upanishads accompanied with Gaudapada's Karika. This lecture covers Chapter 4 Karika 74-78

Karika 74:
ajaḥ kalpitasaṃvṛtyā paramārthena nāpyajaḥ |
paratantrādiniṣpattyā saṃvṛtyā jāyate tu saḥ || 74 ||

Karika 75:
abhūtābhiniveśo'sti dvayaṃ tatra na vidyate |
dvayābhāvaṃ sa buddhvaiva nirnimitto na jāyate || 75 ||

Karika 76:
yadā na labhate hetūnuttamādhamamadhyamān |
tadā na jāyate cittaṃ hetvabhāve phalaṃ kutaḥ || 76 ||

Karika 77:
animittasya cittasya yā'nutpattiḥ samā'dvayā |
ajātasyaiva sarvasya cittadṛśyaṃ hi tadyataḥ || 77 ||

Karika 78:
buddhvā'nimittatāṃ satyāṃ hetuṃ pṛthaganāpnuvan |
vītaśokaṃ tathā kāmamabhayaṃ padamaśnute || 78 ||

Trouble is, language fails us. And although Sanskrit terms are precise, the translation to English is often less so, even with fluent translation. Add to that an average intelligence like mine, trying to grasp the thoughts of the best minds that ever existed (or never existed)....I'd better listen again. It's my total pleasure to do so. Now, the questioner is very close. See this way if it make sense, you the awareness is always there, and experience pop up to you as subject and object. And when there is no subject, no object either (deep sleep). And when there seems only subject, blankness is experienced (samadhi). You are still and there always as existence. The subject seems like mind. Mind is an unconscious plane where thoughts pop up, thoughts also appears as solid objects. And the whole drama is light up by you. With every experience, time, space and causation appears and similarly disappears. 🙏

Does punarjanma take place in transaction level? Does the soul ( not the Self ) reborn again though illusion as per Mandukya? Despite listening and listening to Swamiji the doubt still lingering in my mind.
