Where are all my fellow 90s kids/teens who grew up with this stuff? Man, I miss being 9 years old!🧡🖤❤️

Around 1998 My best friend and I found a small abandoned town outside of our newly built subdivision after lots of exploring we found a spot on the ground that was slightly depressed, we decided to dig up the spot thinking we might find treasure😂. After a while of digging we begged his dad to let us stay the night down in this hole so we could start digging again first thing in the morning, his dad eventually gave in and said ok, we went home and got a wagon, filled it with blankets and snacks and a copy of these books .. well .. he started reading once we got settled in, and it didn't take long before we got shook up lol then the coyote started to yelp and howl we could barely find the courage to stay the night through and then about 30 minutes later a strom starts to roll in .. we got out of that hole so fast his dad was laughing for years afterwards. RIP William(Bill) Malan I'll never forget you.

The art always make the story far scarier than it actually was

This book was the reason that I had many sweaty hot nights refusing to remove the covers from over my face at night as a 9 year old boy. I miss those days 😢

The art alone is amazing. Brings back memories of my childhood.

The real scary thing about these stories is how quickly people are down for cannibalism.

the fact this guy is also the voice of Heat Miser shows how amazing George S. Irving’s vocal range is.

My inner child is jumping with joy. This is the best voice acting I ever heard in my entire 20 years of living

When I was a kid these stories didn't scare me so much, but the pictures freaked me out. Love it!

The narrator needs an award for best wind sound. He’s a delight!

"Maybe You'll Remember" is the story that really struck me as the most disturbing. We never find out what happens to Rosemary as the author never gave us the ending to either his version or the original account.

This man's voice complements the stories about as well as Stephen Gammell's artwork does. Perfect combination.

I love this, my grandpa used to read these to me before he passed and the narrator sounds just like him, I’m so happy I found this:)))

The Dead Man's Brains is my personal favourite.
Hearing him chuckle always makes me smile. ❤️

The illustrations were a massive inspiration for me they always felt so dreamlike as if you were to try to touch them they vanished. none of it made sense and yet somehow it did and as quickly as it came it was gone and you don't remember anything.

Can we just appreciate how great this narrator tells these storys. This man could narrate even the most boring story and make it so investing. He defenitley brings energy to these storys.

I used to have a tape of this back in the "late 1900." I'd play it over and over again when I had nothing else to do in the evenings. Friggin love the sound design and the background music. Thank you for uploading this! Reliving my childhood right now!
My all time favorite is "Cold As Clay." The music here is gorgeous.

My second grade teacher use to read us these stores to us. We would all gather on the rug. She would turn off the lights and he skull candle out . When you let it it had red red wax on the on inside so when you lit it it look like blood going down the skull. She was one of my favorite teachers
Miss Betty Follon
She taught at strainwood elementary school in concord ca
She also loved dinosaurs. I hope she doing well. If she still with us. I not seen or spoken to her since 1989.
