Garcia must have thought the force play was on. That's the only explanation that makes sense to me. He didn't know Volpe had to tag him, so he thought Volpe went out of his way to initiate contact and overreacted. (Then the Yankees started clowning him, which didn't help.)

The tag was not that aggressive, the tag was with Volpe, not Torres. What the heck is ESPN looking at? They better change the description. Besides, Garcia tried to slap Volpe's glove down while sliding into second.
