This is the most interesting period in gaming history to me personally. Really enjoyed hearing some new details I didn't know!

I'm in the thick of the Console Wars audio book so this is a nice visual complement. Love the use of the Snatcher OST as well.

Amazed you aren't 10k+ subs yet. If you keep up this kind of quality, it's just a matter of time!

Wow this is mind blowing... SEGA get a load of problems with the license violations with so many companies.
It's incredible to think it was EA the more problematic company with SEGA in the games development kit.
Also I impressed of that Michael Katz is featuring in this video, this is the greatest SEGA Genesis documental I ever seen yet. Keep it great

I'm working on a video right now from EA's perspective, and this was an excellent primer for what Sega was going through at the time. Great job!

Not sure if it's just me, but the background music is too loud compared to the voiceover?

I remember owning the 16 bit sega (megadrive/genesis) and always wondered why their cartridges looked different to the regular 16 bit carts. There was one issue with this agreement in 1994. Both sega and EA released a 4 player adaptor which weren't compatible with each others games. Yet tengen were able to release games that were compatible with both companies titles

0:24 Uh, the Taiwan part, the SG-1000 was more popular there than the famicom. I learned that from another youtuber Gamester81. He didn't mention anything about the Mark 3, but I assumed that it dominated.

those games rocked, and were also quite diverse in gaming experience.
a few of them were difficult to get on time, never could buy the tank game.

I remember when I popped in Road rash and I couldn't beat the game unless I grinded hard or bought loot boxes. Lol. =P

Great video, very informative that kept me intrigued throughout its duration. I knew bits and pieces of the story and even held a virtual pyre for Nintendo during that time...thinking they deserved to be torched. Who would have ever thought back in '89 that EA would become the monstrous bastards they are today, killing everything they touch. I have to say, if Trip had been able to keep the business we might be seeing a very different EA today.
