Why Dante's Inferno 2 Was Cancelled

Breakdown why Visceral Games cancelled the sequel to the 2010 Dante's Inferno game. The sequel, Dante's Purgatory, would have followed Dante through his adventures fighting angels and demons in purgatory.

This game actually inspired me to purchase The Divine Comedy, that book changed a lot of things for me. Thank you Visceral Games, I would've loved to have seen Purgatory.

This was a beautiful game. It was challenging and I still play it regularly. It’s not very much talked about now but man was it fun to play. A sequel is a must. Just imagine what they can do on the new consoles like PS5 or Xbox series X.

It's not impossible! I'm still gonna hold my breath for another Dante's Inferno game cause it deserves it! Absolutely LOVED this game growing up and it deserves so much more recognition! Even if it somehow ends up being bad or not living up to our expectations, it will still be popular, if for only a short time. But regardless, I will STILL play this game and continue to love it over and over and over again. I HAVEN'T GIVEN UP

The game and film was a blast, if they do nothing to finish the full story, maybe Sony should buy the rights, Im sure they'd be happy to work on it and maybe improve it.

It's pretty easy to have villains for the sequels or a trilogy. The portal to Purgatory and subsequent pathway to Heaven is open. Though Lucifer is bound, there are plenty more notable demons to face. Maybe they could have Lucifer be released and take the shape of an angel of light.
In fact, in Paradise, we could take control of Dante and face off against an invasion of demons led by the dragon. Whether they want to make Lucifer the dragon or make him and Satan different beings then they could make him the next big villain. Just saying, there are still so many interesting avenues that they could take with this.

Dead Space got a remake finally, let’s hope you’re onto something when you said Dante’s Inferno wouldn’t be touched until after Dead Space got it’s spotlight. I’d love a remake of this game
