Traveled to Vietnam solo in 2011 and really enjoyed it. While visiting Halong Bay I somehow left my wallet at a hotel. When I returned to Hanoi 2 days later my wallet was waiting for me at my hotel---nothing missing, including cash. This says it all about the character of people and the tightly organized travel industry. Can't wait to visit Sapa again. Great country to travel in.

I agree with your 10 reasons to live in Vietnam. I moved to Vietnam 3 years ago, and I have never regretted my decision.

For me as a Vietnamese, I love 2 things about my country:
1) Fast and cheap Internet, and it’s available in everywhere
2) A country but consist of beach, mountain, desert and river so I have so many choices and I haven’t felt bored while I’m traveling Vietnam

Last year I was "stuck" in Danang for 7 months because of Covid. I miss it and would like to spend extended time there whenever they fully open again for tourists. Great food and beautiful people.

For me, the best feature of Vietnam is the kind and friendly people.I had many examples of complete strangers going out of their way to guide me or give me free drinks and snacks etc. T, hen there is the beauty of Vietnam from the central highlands to the beaches and rivers. Last, but not least, the delicious food- at a guess, the best 10 meals of my life were there. I'm really looking forward to getting back.

Number #3: It is about the people for me! Kindness and hospitality is a game changer for me! I am awaiting for travel restrictions to be lifted! I would love to teach there!

I need to add two more things: beaches and seafood. Chinese flock to Vietnam to eat cheap seafood and it is also exported in large quantities to China. All provinces in Vietnam have cities and towns with beautiful beaches literally within walking distance. In some places, you can claim all the beaches for yourselves (if you know where to go). I feel that Vietnam beaches are much underrated. Maybe the service is not on par with that in other South East Asia countries, but if you come just for the sceneries and can enjoy yourselves, it is cheaper and more fun in Vietnam.

I got here weeks before covid began and decided to stay put in Hanoi. Best decision I’ve made in a long while. Almost two years here. Traveling around hasn’t been recommended as of this past year though, especially not towards the South. Love it here.

Though I've never been to Vietnam before, I've had the honor to befriend with so many Vietnamese over the years. I can't agree more that most, if all of them are extremely friendly, generous, and compassionate. Yes, the Vietnamese food is A M A Z I N G as well. I would love to visit Vietnam some day. :)

I'm moving to Saigon in August and I can't wait! Even just considering the coffee gives me a big reason to move, Vietnam coffee is amazing!

My son has lived in Hanoi for the last 8 years. He says it's not perfect but he is not coming back to the US except for visits. My other son has moved to Sweden.

For me the most attractive reason is " people in there are so warm welcome", and many of my colleagues just like family members.

Being a kid of the 60s...I can tell you that nothing is more shocking and different than Vietnam during my lifetime. Many of my high school friends died there.
