I told him, "We don't have to. We now know where there's six months of food stored up and no way for the owner to protect his stash. Thanks for the tip." He nearly fainted. ;)

My college professor tried the "You'd never stand a chance aganst the US Army" argument.

"They have Nukes"

"Professor, I highly doubt the US government would nuke their own country, it would harm them more than us."

"If the US Army decided to roll into your neighborhood with tanks, you wouldn't be able to do anything."

"Well professor, that would require soldiers of the US military to actually WANT to kill innocent civilians. I can guarantee you at least half of the armed forces would rebel against the government. Also, the Finish held off the soviets with Molotov's and tree branches."

We went back and forth for a little bit all while my lib class was ganging up on me, but I held my ground. It eventually ended with the Teacher shutting the class up and continuing.

It was then I truly started to understand how college indoctrinates people and decided to drop out. I'm currently on the route to be an electrician and will make tons of cash. Who needs college!?

A coworker actually tried the "The government have tanks and planes" argument on me once. He acted all shaken and called me a sociopath when I pointed out that drivers and pilots have to get out on occasion.

My husband and do argue about buying more guns and ammo. He says it's necessary that we buy a full ammo can worth of ammo a month. I insist we get 2! We just can't seem to see eye to eye on this.

Plus I've been saying we should get a new shotgun, but he's been wanting a new pistol. We just couldn't agree, so we were forced to get them both. We do spend a lot of money on guns and ammo. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

Also while a gun is a far more preferable defense, if the intruder also lacks a gain, coming out with a broadsword, bayonet, or flamethrower, would certainly leave an impression. Not as effective, or safe for the people who actually should be protected, but it'd leave an impression.
